Pros: The construction seems to be very sturdy, well made. Typically with these dual slot cards with a heat sink, you will see the outer most unsupported corner of the card drop significantly after installation, but in this case it droped very little.
Up to this point my Corsair 850w PSU's cooling fan would never kick on and my system is an overclocked Intel i7-4770K 3.5GHz processor with 32gigs ram, surely I thought adding the card would demand enough additional power to cause the cooling fan to kick on. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did not. So the power draw is not that bad.
As for the cooling fans of the card itself, I can barely hear them. Very cool!!!
Overall Review: I use my PC primarily for Lightroom and Photoshop use, very little video editing at all. I read many articles how adding a VC to a photo editing machine will not benefit you much at all, they were all wrong. Adding this card has helped to speed up my workflow quite a bit. I am very pleased with the results.
Pros: I used to water cool but prefer this heatsink much better because it keeps the temps down in the low 30s C, even on my overclocked i7 4770k. This thing is whisper quiet and even though it's tall, it does fit inside an Antec 1200 case without the side fan on the door panel.
Comes with multiple mounts and assorted connectors. I love the option of adding an additional fan if needed.
Cons: The color if it bothers you but no big deal to me. Not docking an egg for it.
Overall Review: This unit does not block any of the ram slots on the Asus Z87 pro board.
Pros: Great overclocking board right out of the box, no issues. Wifi is cool but I prefer Ethernet for my main desktop. The Dual Intelligent Processors 4 for Four Way Optimization program that overclocks the entire system is very very very cool!! I wanted an overclocked system but didn't want to spend hours doing it like the old days, this did the trick and probably better than I would have.
Plenty of fan headers (x4 cases fans + CPU fan header) to allow the Fan Expert2 program integrated with Dual Intelligent Processors to tweak your OC to the best settings based on your equipment.
Lots of Sata connectors and USB connectors.
Asus put a lot of thought and planning into these Z87 boards, well done Asus!!!
Pros: The modular design is a must and the fact that the connectors slightly snap into place gives you that solid connection feel. I have no complaints with the modular ribbon cable designs, it works. I am running an Azuz Z87 + i7 4770K CPU OC'd and the fan only runs when the load requires it and so far it has not kicked on at all. I am running an Azuz Z87 + i7 4770K CPU OC'd, 32gigs ram but no video card. I over bought my PSU for the future.
Lots of cables, that's a nice bonus!
Cons: The bags for the cables and PSU are really not necessary. In fact they could have reduced the cost a bit leaving those out. I guess I will find something to use them for.
Pros: Decent price for large capacity, if they would last.
Cons: Both began to give paging errors in my Event Viewer. Starting seeing system freeze. Checked my Event Viewer and noticed paging errors on disk that began to increase overtime until it was just too much. Double checked using different sata ports, same problem. Exchanged 1st drive, then as soon as I installed the replacement drive my second Samsung drive began but it failed over a period of days, not months like the first one. Both are exact same drives.
Overall Review: After I'm done with these Samsung drives I'm going back to Western Digital.
Pros: This machine is incredible! It cleans everything very well. Although the components seem fragile because they are made of plastic, they are designed very well. The amount of water it picks up is staggering. The instructions tell you to make two passes for the drying but if you make 3 or 4 it will continue to pick up water, and the great thing is you can see it.
Cons: Price, but I think it's worth it.
Pros: Absolutely spectacular in terms of fit, form and function!!!! This case was designed very, very well with concideration for the serious builder. Made of black powder coated steel joined together with aluminum or steel pop rivets and they actually look good against the black frame. The engineering fit is flawless, down to the alignment of the smallest holes! Versatility was on the mind of Antec during design. My plan is to use it for my PA 120.3 radiator, water pump and secondary PSU. Because of the flexible design I can remove the drive cages from the fan assemblies and mount the radiator verticly up against the 3 120mm fans in the front of the case. The fan spacing in the case matches the fan spacing on the radiator, perfect fit. All of the edges in the preformed holes for cable management have been protected with edge guards and to answer another reviewers question, yes mine too has a large rectangular shaped hole underneath where the mobo sits. Continued....
Cons: That I didn't buy this sooner! Guys and gals, I'm not joking. I don't work for Antec, I'm just a geek that likes home building my PCs.
Overall Review: Obviously so you don’t have to remove the mobo to change out heatsinks, great idea! Rear and front fan speeds are adjustable, top 200mm fan has both speed and light adjustments. The fan assemblies with the filters and perforated cover plates are well thought out and perfectly manufactured so that the filters snap in place. The drive cages all use thumb screws and are also made very sturdy. As you can tell I am very, very impressed with the quality and design of this case. This could be my last case for a very long time.
Pros: Easy installation and ample storage.
Cons: The drive worked for a few days at first but then started to disappear during use. After I got all of my applications installed, (of course) the drive started to stop responding to my system WindowsXP SP2. Sometimes the bios would recognize it and sometimes it wouldn't, then during those times it did the drive would stop during operation. I have tried different Sata II ports and new cables, no go. It was getting worse. I am replacing it with s Seagate.
Pros: The temperature sensor is very sensitive to heat, which is a good thing. You can just hold it with your fingers and hear the fan spin up, works great. As mentioned it pumps out alot of air at max speed.
Pros: I love this console! It is built really well and solid. It has the same beautiful black piano finish that you find on high-end audio equipment. Some people complain about fingerprints, whatever! Once you get it setup you shouldn't be touching it anyway, that's what the remote if for. Contrary to a previous review it does generate some heat so I added an 80mm fan in the back wall of the compartment which made a hugh difference. The system is very responsive and the graphics are second to none for both BluRay and gaming.
Overall Review: Don't buy Oceans 13, the quality is horrible. You can see for yourself, its all over the web.
Pros: Once paired this remote works just likes it's supposed to work, no problems! The PS3 is very responsive and and yes you can turn the PS3 on and off with it, eject the disk, and do just about everything else. Great addition to your setup.
Pros: The anti-Microsoft people are gonna hate me for this but oh well, it is what it is. I wasted so much time trying out many of the alternative media centers because I was following the advice and recommendations in many of the media forums on the net until I got really frustrated looking for a all-in-one media center. Then I finally bit the bullet and tried MCE, what a difference! It does everything, movies, live TV, pictures, music, internet, etc. What more do you need? I will do my own dishs thankyou.
Cons: None, unless you want to say that the cost is a disadvantage. I have tried the free ones and they don't stack up to MCE. With most of the free ones and even with some of the purchased ones you get what you pay for.
Overall Review: I haven't even gotten into any of the plugins yet. Gotta a lot to do.
Pros: This fan is designed to move as much air as possible without the noise. The fan assembly itself is twice as wide as your normal single slot PCI fan which means that it can move more air with lest noise. When you check the air flow you should be impressed considering how quite it is.
Cons: Designed with only a two wire connection for the PSU. Would prefer the option of connecting to the MOBO case fan using a three wire connection.
Overall Review: For those guys that are complaining about the air flow? You can't have it both ways, you either get noise with increased CFM or you get lower CFM with silent fans. You have to choose.
Pros: Great quality device with great software. Painless and flawless installation. Using the Optical Digital connection it sounds truly awesome with my 7.1 surround sound. If fact I knew I had made the right decision when I began playing some music and my wife commented on how great it sounded. Only after that did I tell her is was coming from our HTPC and not the stereo. That's when she was really impressed!
Overall Review: You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to get the sound you need.
