Pros: Drastically Lowers the temps of both the GPU and the VRM(S). Looks awesome with the black nickel plating and provides much quieter operations.
Cons: Really Really BIG. Once you attach a couple of fans, you will be occupying about 4 PCI slots. Would recommend a backplate or something to hold the card from slouching.
Overall Review: The cooler doesnt come with fans so you will need to provide 2 120mm fans for the cooler. I used a couple of Corsair SP120L I had laying around, found a PWM splitter and now let the motherboard take care of cooling the card with Corsair's Link software. Its well worth considering this product if you have a reference 290(X) It cooled the card from the following temps Stock cooler: Idle- 68C Load- 98C VRMS: Idle- 72C Load-102C Morpheus: Idle - 35C Load- 54C VRMS: Idle- 37C Load- 72C Also to note my card was suffering from really bad coil whine, but since I installed the cooler, the coil whine is completely gone. Well worth every penny.
Awesome Co. Need more support!!!
At First I was a bit skeptical, had never heard of RAIJINTEK before so did my investigating and discovered that they are very well regarded in Europe. After translating many German, French, Dutch, and Russian reviews I found out great things. How many of their CPU coolers rival the big name brands as well as excellent cases and fans. Couldn't resist, so I took a chance. And that chance turned out to be a Grand Slam. Products are very well made and have have good solid performance. Since RAIJINTEK is a small company, they will need to get their name out there to the many American reviewers to really build their reputation here in the states. And with happy customers like me, I'd be more than willing to put my hat in the ring representing these guys and showing the possibilities that this company has for the DIY PC market.
