Exceeded expectations
Pros: Great price Amazingly clear instructions Enough hardware for any use case I could imagine Sturdy
Cons: None
Overall Review: I had heard great things about StarTech, so my expectations were pretty high - but this still exceeded them. This was used for a large monitor installation in a commercial space, which I had never before done. The instructions were professionally done and made installation dead simple. It even came with a snap-in level! All in all, the best mount I've ever used!
Blazing speed, then nothing
Pros: Nearly the highest throughput I've experienced from an SSD. Excellent price for the capacity.
Cons: I purchased two of these in early December 2012. I installed one in a new HTPC/server build, and another as an upgrade to a year-old PC. In each case, the drive took an image happily, and worked great - for about four days. After that, they would only intermittently appear in BIOS, and after two days of *that*, they died entirely. I RMA'ed both (Newegg continues to rule in this area), but due to the holidays, I've only received one replacement. I'm going to image and install it today, and hopefully, it will last a *bit* longer!
Exactly as described
Pros: Reasonable cost Small form factor
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I bought two of these for a retail space, to provide power to a cable modem, router, AP, and NVR. They are very compact, and provide plenty of backup power for my devices during power outages (I tested them). Very pleased so far.
Amazing PC!
Pros: I picked this up to replace my gigantic full-size media PC; I expected something much smaller, and not as fast. What this is ... is pretty incredible. It's even smaller than the measurements imply. I've never before had to use my miniature tools on a PC build; and yet, there was plenty of room for 16GB RAM, a 1TB HD, and an SSD. Less than ten minutes after opening the box, I had everything installed and was powering it up for the first time. The BIOS was easy to navigate, with plentiful options. I booted from my USB image for Windows 10 and loaded it right up. Every component was recognized, and performance is excellent. I intentionally chose this model because it is HT-capable, so I get four addressable cores/threads. 4K video output looks beautiful, video playback is flawless, and I've yet to encounter anything that makes it sweat. I even have a couple of VMs running on it via VirtualBox, no struggle at all. In a month, I managed to cause the fan to wind up once; it was still extremely quiet. I added these components: Seagate Hybrid Drives ST1000LM014 1TB MLC/8GB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s NCQ 2.5" Laptop SSHD -Bare Drive Kingston 60GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SMS200S3/60G G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Laptop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GRSL
Cons: I can usually come up with something, but not this time.
