Great product

Scythe SCASM-1000 120mm Sleeve Andy Samurai Master CPU Cooler
Scythe SCASM-1000 120mm Sleeve Andy Samurai Master CPU Cooler

Pros: Very efficient cooling. The fan stays below 1000rpm while keeping a 2.4GHz Quad overclocked at 3.0GHz. This is SILENT no matter how you look at it. Mounting was easy. The base has a very good finish. Temps at 3.0GHz stayed at 42C with days of quad core prime stress testing. Idle is 32C or lower.

Cons: NONE

Overall Review: On a gigabyte p35 DS3L I had to trim two fins on the north bridge heat-sink. This was a simple task using a pair of snips. Otherwise the heatpipes would put pressure on the northbridge and more then likely disrupting contact with the chipset.

Great looker and good price

COMPAQ Presario 15.4" AMD Turion 64 MK-36 512MB Memory Windows XP Media Center RG290UA#ABA

Pros: The laptop looks really good. I like how the screen closes shut. The price is also fair for a name brand pc. I put my own version of XP and everything is working smoothly.

Cons: The main one is that a genious at Compaq decided to put the cpu fan on the bottom of the laptop. This contradicts the entire point of a laptop. My left thigh is constantly getting hot, even as I type this. I have to try and move the laptop to one leg. The mouse pad surface is not as slick as moste notebooks. It has a glossy finish and resists sliding. The power cord is on the side of the notebook and not in the back. This is something i am not used to and it gets annoying. The volume controls don't work smoothly and any volume change makes a somewhat loud beep regardless of the volume level. So if you want to turn down the volume to be quiet it will BEEP!! Speakers sound good but are raspy at max volume.

Overall Review: I am somewhat picky on the cons. Overall for the price this is a good computer. MAN, my leg is getting hot!
