Open-box problem
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Gaming Motherboard
Pros: The usual ones for a board in this price range.
Cons: Missing Q-connector. This was an Open-Box newegg.com purchase. So I knew this could happen. I contacted Asus support and they refused to send me a replacement Q-connector (a sub $5 part).
Overall Review: I've purchased Asus parts/devices for several years (although not exclusively) and was always pleased with their service/products. The Q-connector is a great invention for people like me trying to build a new system with poor eyesight.

Broken Sata plug

Pros: Great refurb price! Quiet.
Cons: - Not much room between Sata power plugs b) one of the Sata power plugs had a broken orange wire.
Overall Review: For the price I saved buying refurb, the broken connector was worth the savings.
