Most Favorable Review

Well built and powerful for it's size

Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 Blue Intel Atom N270(1.60 GHz) 10.1" WSVGA 1GB Memory 160GB HDD Netbook
Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 Blue Intel Atom N270(1.60 GHz) 10.1" WSVGA 1GB Memory 160GB HDD Netbook

Pros: Good build quality, very long battery life (8-10 hours) with idle desktop (5-6 hours) heavy usage. The hard drive is really nice large enough to boot with XP, Vista/win7, and OS X, and still have 95gb left over. Very easy to upgrade the memory to 2gb. It has access ports to the Hdd, Memory, and wifi card. I installed all three of the above OS's and Windows 7 screams on this machine. It's slightly bigger than the older Acer Asipire netbooks and the Dell mini however the extra 1" does help with a wider screen and keyboard layout. It plays Divx movies great, and plays older pre 2005 RTS games like StarCraft, Age of empires, and Empire earth II very well. 3 USB ports are perfect.

Cons: The glossy casing and screen does attract fingerprints very easily, usually stuff like this doesn't bother me but if you want it to look nice you'll be wiping off the fingerprints with a damp cloth daily. The mouse isn’t to bad, it is small and I usually double click on the touchpad more than the buttons. The buttons are stiff. I recommend a bluetooth adaptor for about $15 bucks and a bluetooth mouse for about $40.

Overall Review: If your accustom to reinstalling windows, booting from a flash thumb drive is a bit more tricky then a CD. There's plenty of advice and step-by-steps out there. Acer made a hidden driver folder under the C:\ if you unhide all your folder view options and want to reinstall windows I recommend you backup that "Acer" driver directory, it contains the Sata hdd drivers which are really hard to find on the web since this is a new machine. Overall I'm really happy with this machine. I never cared for laptops because a 15" screen was a pain to lug around but this is so small and mobile it's perfect. The price is worth the extra features and the Dell mini can't come close to its options.
