Pros: Cheap price. Good quality. Sleek looks. HDMI, VGA, DVI, with Speaker line in and out, perfect for college dorms. I used mine to play my Xbox and run my computer when I was in college.
Cons: Only tilts, won't slide up and down. Not that big of a deal, but when you have a dual screen set up and each monitor is on a different surface, it'd be nice to have.
Overall Review: I bought one of these style monitors a few years back (The VE249) and I loved it, even though I paid an arm and a leg because I bought it at Best Buy. When my dad was in the market for a monitor I recommended this style. He wound up getting the VE248 when it came on sale and he's loved it ever since. I saw this guy up for sale and wanted to a dual screen set up so I bought it and I love it. I'm considering buying a forth and making my dual screen set up a triple screen. Asus has sold me with this one. I'll be buying these as long as Asus keeps makin them.
Pros: I've never actually owned a really nice case, but this thing is awesome. Case comes with loads of screws so don't worry about running short. Cable management is great. Fan control up top is nice, USB 3.0 up top is nice. It really has a nice and sturdy build. Tool-less trays are awesome. Everything about this case is just awesome. Case arrived packaged very well with no flaws in it that I've seen
Overall Review: I really almost feel guilty picking this up for such a cheap price before Christmas. Thanks Newegg for the killer deal.
Pros: -Water cooler is of really nice quality.
-As people have said, you can change the LED color
Overall Review: I got an overclock up to 4.8 GHz on just voltage and multiplier which is very nice, and thanks to the awesome water cooler, I'm hitting 47 degrees max after several hours of Prime 95, which I thought was a very nice surprise. I did drop it down to a quad core as games don't really benefit from the 8-core, couldn't get it to boot with the same overclock settings on the 8-core, so for those of you that want some more overclock for games, try droppin the number of cores.
Before this I had a Phenom X2 unlocked to an X4 with a 4.0Ghz overclock and it's difficult for me to see much of a difference in games, however I do have a HUGE bottleneck in the graphics card department so I won't be deducting eggs for that as I'm sure that's the limiting factor right now.
Pros: Worked right outa the box. Which is nice. I'm not a huge fan of these new Bios but this one seems aright. At first I thought the top status LEDs were a bit bright, they shone straight in my eyes out of the top of the case, but thankfully with the awesome software that was included with the board, you could just go ahead and turn them off (THANKS!). I was able to overclock my 8150 to 4.8GHz with just voltage and multiplier no problems. Haven't used the OC Genie, stuff like that scares me but I may try it out at some point. Plenty of PCI-E slots, I/O panel has a really nice selection of USB, Firewire, and E-Sata.
Cons: None at the moment.
Overall Review: Really nice motherboard, felt very solidly built. Included software package was very nice. Nothing bad to say and it full-filled every requirement I was expecting it to full fill so 5 eggs from me.
Pros: I have two of these so far. One I got for an external enclosure about 3 years ago, the second I bought a year ago for a PC Build. Both still run, which I am surprised about. Since I travel a lot, my external has seen every corner of my car. I've gone through 2 external enclosures because they keep dieing from the abuse, but the hard drive is still runnin
Cons: Way too expensive. 109 bucks?!? I paid less for it 3 years ago(90 bucks) and a year ago I bought one for something like 44 bucks. I do plan on buying another one of these but not at this price. Not deducting an egg because it is due to the Thailand floods, but it's about time these start going back down to their correct price.
Pros: Fast, works with my Asus Mobo which is apparently pickie with memory. Looks good and keeps cool. No complaints
Pros: Its a DVD burner and it reads perfectly fine. Haven't had a chance to test it's burning capabilities yet.
Pros: Works as advertised. Everything is nice and smooth
Overall Review: Haven't tried to unlock the 4th core yet, but I have no real need for that yet. I have been converted to an AMD fan. I bought my first AMD a year ago, a Phenom 2 x2 @3.2 Ghz. Since then I've unlocked it to quad core and overclocked it to 4.0Ghz with no problems what so ever. It handles anything you throw at it, and so far, this Athlon is running just as smooth as that Phenom did when it was stock. Every PC I build from here on out will be without a doubt, AMD.
Pros: For the price, this was a great purchase. Everything worked right outa the box and the mobo looks great
Cons: The Bios was a bit hard to follow. My older Gigabyte Bios is a lot more user friendly.
Pros: Looks good, Everything fit without a single problem. Removable HDD and DVD tray is a huge plus and very helpful. Everything fit nice and tight but had no trouble getting anything to fit. Power supply seems pretty solid. Absolutely no complaints here. Came exactly as advertised.
Pros: They're cheap, fairly durable. Descent sound quality. They're not incredible, but they're not bad
Cons: Every single one I have owned has had a tendency of breaking where the wire goes into the headphone. No big deal though, just open them up, pull some more wire into the headphone, cut where the wire broke and re solder. They do become very uncomfortable if you have them on for more then an hour or two. I usually use them when I'm at the gym so I usually don't have them on for more then an hour or so
Overall Review: I don't think I've ever had a set fully break. I just kept buying them when I lost or couldn't find my pair, since fixing them was a breeze, it never bothered me to have to fix them occasionally.
Pros: It was pretty cheap, plugged it in and ran right away. No complaints. It works.
Cons: It has 9 ports on the back, but once up link is hooked-up port number 8 is not useable. Not deducting an egg since I read this issue in the reviews prior to buying. This switch went on a small network I set up at my parents house so it's no huge deal, but since there are 9 ports to begin with, it'd be nice to have access to all 8 with up link plugged in.
Overall Review: My parents have owned a Linksys wireless router for the past 8 years and it's still working without a hitch. Working 24/7 the entire time, I've only had to restart it maybe 2 times it's entire life. I've also outfitted my home network with linksys gear and added this switch to my parents network. Ive never had a problem with any Linksys products and will continue buying them. You guys have yourself a lifelong customer.
Pros: Super fast. Mine came with newest firmware already on it. I only use it for OSs, Got 3 OSs running on this and it has just barely enough room for the three, with windows 7 taking the most space. All other data will be goin on an HDD
Cons: All three OSs(XP for work, 7 and Ubuntu for play) had trouble installing. They all hung on the very last step of install, not sure how this would be the drives fault but before this was installed, all three installed with no issues. Now all of a sudden all three have the same exact issue. I had to force shutting down which didn't seem to have a negative affect on the OS, all three OSs appeared normal after reboot, Almost seemed like they were getting stuck on the final restart.
Overall Review: Great drive for the price. Just the one OS installing issue lost it one egg.
Pros: It looks awesome and it definitely keeps my CPU super cold
Cons: -This thing is HUGE. I have about 1 cm clearance between my side vent fan and this heat sync. Can't really deduct an egg for this though.
-It is kind of a pain to install. I thought I was going to crack my motherboard trying to get the clip on. The clips are rather poorly designed. This gets one egg deducted.
Pros: Blue fans are cool. It's cheap. Sprayed it matte black on the inside and it actually looks really clean now.
Cons: I/O plate is not removable. Had to get out the die grinder to cut it out and put my I/O panel in. Everything fits very tightly, Scratched up the side of my hard drive and cd drive just sliding them in. Other then that, it works...
Pros: Fired right up. Bios is good. Unlocked my Dual Core with no problems. Lots of ports, Would definitely purchase again.
