RAID5 Array
Pros: Set up RAID 5 array with (4) WD RAID-Edition 400GB hard drives, on Supermicro PDSG4 motherboard (see my motherboard review). Areca card and hard drives work flawlessly. Awesome!
Cons: None.
Overall Review: This card is worth the big $. Emailed Tech support with a question (motherboard-related), they got back to me same day.
Shooting Flames
Comments: Ordered and delivered first week of August. Popped and shot flames after 3 days of use. RMA'd to Enxxmax instead of NewEgg, replacement unit was slightly different design, works great. Scary experience but replacement is rock solid. P4EE 3.6GHz, (2)15KSCSI320 HDs, (8) 7.2K PATAorSATA HDs, (4) Optical Drives, GeForce 6800 Ultra, (6) Fans.
Top.Quality
Pros: Why would anyone buy an older, more expensive, 3Gb/s small-capacity VelociRaptor? To expand a RAID array with others of the identical model. These drives rock.
Cons: None
Awesome Keyboard
Pros: Tactile, just enough feedback, compact and well-built. Love the modular cords.
Cons: None
Awesome Motherboard
Pros: This motherboard is industrial strength yet has all the enthusiast features. Rock solid and very fast. Works great with my Core Duo 6600 and Corsair XMS2 RAM. Areca PCI-X RAID seems much faster than on previous motherboard.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Quad-core compatible according to ASUS website.
RAID 5 Array
Pros: Set up RAID 5 using (4) of these drives with Areca 1110 RAID controller on Supermicro PDSG4 motherboard (see my MB review). Drives work flawlessly.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Very cool, very quiet.
