Good hub, one design flaw

ORICO USB 3.0 Hub Aluminum [5Gbps], 7 Port USB Hub with 1.64Ft USB-C Cable and USB-A Adapter USB Splitter for iMac, All MacBooks, Mac Mini
ORICO USB 3.0 Hub Aluminum [5Gbps], 7 Port USB Hub with 1.64Ft USB-C Cable and USB-A Adapter USB Splitter for iMac, All MacBooks, Mac Mini

Pros: Tough metal case, 12V powered so it can run off a battery, compatible with everything I've tried so far (Linux of course)

Cons: WARNING! The power "switch" is not really a switch at all, it's just a push button. So every time there is a power failure you need to press a button to turn it back on. Based on the pictures, I mistakenly thought it was a two-position switch so the hub would turn itself back on automatically if it was in the on position. Fortunately, I noticed that if you hold down the power button the hub stays on perpetually, probably due to some programming quirk. So to fix this issue I opened the case and soldered a short wire between the switch contacts, now the hub turns on and stays on as soon as power is applied.
