Overly Impressed

Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler
Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: *Huge double towers with well spaced fins. Entire packaging and component set feels premium quality. *Aesthetically pleasing, looks great in my case. *The two included fans are high quality, and the cable shielding feels sturdy while remaining flexible. *Cooling performance is exemplary. *Easy to find on discount. Noctua-level cooling at 3/4 the cost.

Cons: *Mounting onto the CPU can be challenging. It took three attempts to correctly seat and requires a second pair of hands to attach. Doing this by yourself would be a challenge. *As usual with towers this large, it's heavy on the mobo. Make sure you're thorough with tightening down bracket and motherboard case screws or this could be a problem down the road.

Overall Review: I initially bought this as an alternative to the Noctua DH-15 since it was significantly cheaper, and boy am I glad I did. i7-4790k at 4.7Ghz. Idles around 30C in ambient of 23, and runs 67-72C under full load. Never surpasses 75C in stress testing on a 700Mhz overclock. Phanteks has gained a new long term customer.
