First Meaningful Upgrade in a Decade

Canon imageCLASS MF264dw Wireless Laser Multifunction Printer
Canon imageCLASS MF264dw Wireless Laser Multifunction Printer

Pros: I have been buying ImageClass printers for at least 15 years now (seriously? wow.). I love them because they are cheap, but do everything I need them to do: printing, scanning, photocopying with page feeder. I love that the first page will print in less than 10 seconds. The toner (knock-offs) is cheap. I have purchased at least 7 for my businesses. In all that time, the design and look has hardly changed. Wireless and network connectivity has been added. Duplex printing was exciting when it came along. All this time, however, it has always maintained the same-ish 21 ppm. For the first time, this ICMF264 has gotten a speed upgrade to 30 ppm. It is also quieter. It has also changed its design by making the toner cartridge smaller, so now the paper tray doesn't have to stick out from the front of the machine. The output is likewise recessed, but that makes it a little harder to dig the pages out. Not hard enough that it loses a star (er, egg). Seriously, for the price, you cannot go wrong. I would say that it could be your only printer, but I don't use it for big copying or printing jobs. If you generally stick to 50 prints or copies at a time, this is fine.

Cons: None really.

Overall Review: For the price, you cannot go wrong.

Most Critical Review

Gigabyte - Are you there?

GIGABYTE GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Seems like a really well put together board.

Cons: I get no sound to my speakers from the ports on the motherboard in the back. It works with the headphone jack on the front of the case. Have downloaded new drivers and gone through Windows and Realtek settings with no resolution (no, it is not muted anywhere). Unfortunately, like the other reviewer, I have received no response from Gigabyte. While it is likely something simple or dumb, I will have to return it unless I hear from Gigabyte soon.

Overall Review: The board is great is all respects, except for this little issue. I will revise my review and rating once I get the sound issue fixed.

Soooo Slooooow

Sandisk 512GB Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 130MB/s (SDCZ430-512G-G46)
Sandisk 512GB Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 130MB/s (SDCZ430-512G-G46)

Pros: Small

Cons: I have used USB drives to back up my office files for years and year using MS Synctoy. That program encrypts the data. This is how I have done it. First with a 32GB drive, then 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and now this 512GB as my storage needs have grown. All of them before this would back up the data very quickly. Very quickly. This USB takes an agonizingly long time to do its thing. At least 10 times longer. Maybe it is broken?

Overall Review: Almost unusable in my experience.

Actually, it is fantastic

Ricoh SP C261SFNw All-in-One Color Laser Printer
Ricoh SP C261SFNw All-in-One Color Laser Printer

Pros: Excellent quality. Works perfectly. Fast.

Cons: Toner Cost.

Overall Review: So the only other reviewer gave it poor marks because he couldn't figure out the manual. I downloaded the newest drivers from the Ricoh website, unzipped and ran them and everything worked perfectly. I use very think paper (28#). You have to set the printer up for thick paper like this or the toner will flake off. Once set, it works great. I had a Dell color printer and this is head and shoulders above the Dell. Colors - whether photographs or graphics are outstanding. Scanning features are better than my photocopier, and quicker. Set it up as a networked printer - did it automatically without me having to do a thing. And it was less than $200!!! Unfortunately, toner is nearly that much, so I guess it is disposable. I need many color prints, so I anticipate that it will last several years before I need to replace it. (Yes, we consumers who buy and toss all suck, I am sorry).

HD View will not work with Windows 10

SiliconDust HDHR4-2US HDHomeRun CONNECT 2-Tuner Streaming Media Player for Cord Cutters
SiliconDust HDHR4-2US HDHomeRun CONNECT 2-Tuner Streaming Media Player for Cord Cutters

Pros: Someone needs to highlight the fact that HDHomeRun View WILL NOT WORK with Windows 10. You get sound but no video. It is not totally SD's fault. Microsoft has removed the Codec needed to convert the video (you cannot watch DVDs with a new Win10 install, or .mpg or others, either). The problem I have with SD is that they acknowledge the problem, but expressly refuse to tell you how to work around the problem. Only, apparently, if people boycotted the product until SD remedied the situation, would it get fixed. So, as well as it works with my older Windows installs, do not buy this until it fixes the Windows 10 issue. I think SiliconDust is monitoring these reviews. Show me how I am wrong or fix the issue and I will gladly change my review. It is a good product, but you can't leave Win10 users hanging like this with no solution other that, "go see how others have fixed it, we can't tell you."

Cons: Need 3rd party codec to work with Windows 10

Overall Review: Rather than leave this up to the user to figure out on her or his own, make the solution clear and understandable, if not automatic. As more users migrate to Windows 10, this will become an increasing problem for you SD.

3G works with AT&T only

Sony Ericsson Xperia ray Black 3G Unlocked GSM Android Smart Phone w/ Android OS 2.3 / 3.3" Touch Screen / 8.1MP Camera (ST18a)
Sony Ericsson Xperia ray Black 3G Unlocked GSM Android Smart Phone w/ Android OS 2.3 / 3.3" Touch Screen / 8.1MP Camera (ST18a)

Pros: I DON'T OWN THIS PHONE YET, but I do own the X10 Mini, which I love, but hate the fact that 3G does not work with T-Mobile. I can get Edge, but that is not so fast. I don't want to switch to AT&T. Just keep that in mind.

Cons: No 3G with T-Mobile.
