Most Critical Review

Incompatible with an Asus Prime Z690-A

G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5600 (PC5 44800) Desktop Memory Model F5-5600J3036D32GX2-RS5K

Pros: CL30, on the G Skill QVL for the motherboard (but not on the Asus QVL)

Cons: Will not run at XMP settings. Will not run if the motherboard is set to auto. Tried each DIMM separately. Either both are defective, or they are incompatible. Asus BIOS is latest, 1403. They may run if CL is set to 36. As the CL30 spec gets a price premium, that's not acceptable.

Overall Review: Not recommended for an Asus Prime Z690-A at this time. Maybe a future BIOS update would allow its use, but it may be safest to stay with the Asus QVL at the moment. (It was intended as a 64GB upgrade over some G Skill 32GB DDR5 5600 CL36 RAM, 2 X 16 GB. That was on the Asus QVL. Works fine.)

Too noisy

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Graphics Card GV-N208STURBO-8GC

Pros: It's thinner than many add-in-board cards, making it possible to closely space multiple cards on the motherboard. (For SLI, maybe.)

Cons: The fan noise is excessive. I have had other nVidia cards with blower type coolers, but none anywhere near this loud.

Overall Review: Spend the extra money and get an AIB card. I have replaced this card with a Gigabyte N208SGAMING OC-8GC, which is quiet.
