VERY FAST DDR3!!!

G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBPI-B
G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBPI-B

Pros: Very fast DDR3 RAM!!! Runs very cool, even litterally to the touch.

Cons: Voltage (1.9v) may be spec'd a bit too high for this RAM. I actually had to drop the voltage to get it to run stable at Spec'd Timings & Mhz. ...just an FYI...

Overall Review: Purchased this to run in my new System; * ASUS P5Q3 P45 Motherboard (FSB @ 1600 Mhz) * (Core 2 Quad Q8200 (2.33 Ghz running @ 2.81 Ghz) * eVGA nVidia GTX 260 Video Card (no reason to mess with clock settings here...) * OCZ 700 PSU This Motherboard is a little tempermental to get going at first but seems absolutely ROCK SOLID now, especially after the new 5.02 BIOS Update. Had to keep one stick of RAM out (single-channel) to install XP (?!?) and had to eventually tweak the RAM Voltage down to ~1.7 to get things stable with both sticks in dual-channel. I'm actually running this RAM with the XMP Setting now and have had no problems at all. Highly recommended DDR3 RAM, especially for this (somewhat pickey - longer story there...) ASUS MB.

SABRENT CB-USBXT 32 ft. Transparent USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable Type A Male to Type A Female

SABRENT CB-USBXT Transparent USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable Type A Male to Type A Female
SABRENT CB-USBXT Transparent USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable Type A Male to Type A Female

Pros: Bought 2 and they both worked at first...

Cons: Bought 2 and 1 failed....

Overall Review: Bought 2 of these to extend secondary USB Keyboard and Mouse out to my living room so I could Game on my 60" Sony HD BL LED TV (connected via HDMI). Both of these USB cables worked flawlessly for a couple months. Then I got busy with the purchase of a secondary home and never had time over the coarse of the next year to Game at all. Tried them for the first time in ~1.5 yrs and one still works flawlessly; the other connects and then immediately disconnects. After purchasing newer USB 3.0 Cables and replacing these older ones I noticed that the metal shielding inside the clear plastic exterior of the failed cable had literally turned BLACK. Yes, BLACK!!! I inspected the length of the cable and found no pinched or damaged areas, and both cables followed the exact same path out to my living room couch.. So I can only conclude that the one that failed would have failed over time even if I never used it. The USB 3.0 replacements I purchased were; "Cable Matters SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Type A Male to Female Active Extension Cable 10 Meters/32.8 Feet" and I highly recommend them over SABRENT Cables...

X58 Chipset, 1366 CPU, and 48GB RAM Triple Channel, and OC

G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX
G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C7D-16GTX

Pros: For those who are wondering, YES!!! This RAM is successfully running on an X58 Chipset with Socket 1366 CPU. My rig is an EVGA Motherboard Model: 132-BL-E758-A1 that I recently had EVGA perform the “Westmere Modification” on so I can now run an X5690 HexCore Xeon CPU. I took a gamble on whether or not these 8GB Sticks would work in this Rig, but it paid off and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve got them clocked at ~1400Mhz right now with the default XMP 1.2 Profile of 7-8-7-24 (oddly was supposed to be 7-8-8-24, but so much the better). I should mention that ~1400 Mhz is the most I’ve EVER been able to get out of ANY RAM I’ve ever put in this MB, so clocking it this high is probably the best I’ll get with these as well – hence my purchasing the lower latency sticks as opposed to the high Mhz versions of this RAM. Of course, your mileage may vary given your CPU’s built-in Memory Controller, your MB and your choice of RAM.

Cons: NONE

Overall Review: I also need to mention that I made the hesitated mistake of not resetting my BIOS before adding these sticks, which caused it to come up in only Dual Channel mode instead of Triple Channel and only reported 32GB vs 48GB that was present, as well as 1.65v instead of 1.5v. Instead of resetting the BIOS (which would have been the easiest path to fix this) I chose to turn off any and all OverClocking in my BIOS and set everything to “Auto”, which then gave me Triple Channel (reported thru CPU-Z) but still only 32GB reported in Win7 x64. Okay, is there a bad Stick or two??? NOPE! Tested each stick (and each slot) individually, verifying the Auto detected settings (volts and timings, etc) in the BIOS and finally got the MB to report each Stick properly. Then I added all the sticks and verified everything was still detected correctly, and then for S&G’s I turned on Dummy OC (for now) and everything is still working perfectly. Been stress testing with AIDA for almost 24hrs and no problems. Also, Crysis 1, 2 and 3 (which are extremely Memory sensitive) all play smooth and without crashing! Me’za Likey!!! =) G. Skill is AWESOME RAM!!!

Retracting Previous Review after going SLI

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-3975-KR 4GB SSC GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling Graphics Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 04G-P4-3975-KR 4GB SSC GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling Graphics Card

Pros: It is Quiet, and the BIOS switch to up the Fan Speeds is a cute gimmick, yet it's still quiet even so... But is noise-level really what you're concerned about when purchasing a high-end Gaming card?!?

Cons: STUTTER!!! In half the games I own (64 games)! Google this and you'll see what I mean! As well, another Con is the 3.5GB and 512MB Memory Pool segmentation. Google this as well and you'll see what I mean here too...

Overall Review: Let me please explain. It's not a horrible card, and your mileage may vary. And both Newegg and EVGA are NOT at fault - both are great companies!!! However, after purchasing my second 3975 and going SLI I got even better Frame Rates (FPS, awesome right?) but unfortunately noticed sporadic stuttering while playing games (not so awesome, and I don't believe this to be a SLI issue either). nVidia (and other) Forums are riddled with people having performance stutter, even though they usually got excellent FPS. And I was no exception to this. =( I would get an almost solid 120 FPS in Crysis 3 with Max settings and vSync enabled; however, I would get stuttering (like the game just paused and unpaused). I do agree that Crysis 3 is still not a very well optimized game even at the latest patch level. But, this problem was also happening in Borderlands 2 and several over titles. This seems to be an issue with the NVidia Maxwell GM204 architecture, and NVidia seems to either not know why or (more likely) are not coming clean about it... As well, NVidia marketed 970 Cards as being 4GB with 64 ROPs and 2048 L2 Cache, but just recently (after several people in forums uncovered a horrible performance drop-off after utilizing 3.5 GB VRAM) admitted the last 512MB of the Card shares the last Memory Channel with the previous 512 memory bank and that the Cards only have 56 ROPs and 1792 L2 Cache. This ultimately results in the last 1 GB of VRAM performing at ~1/7 the performance of the other memory banks (the first 3 GB) as you get closer and closer to utilizing 4 GB VRAM (the last 1 GB performs fine from 3.0 to 3.5 GB, but this last 1 GB starts performing worse and worse as you go from 3.5 to 4 GB). People are HIGHLY upset with NVidia right now over all of this and after a Posting today where NVidia stated they have no intention of optimizing this scenario in their Drivers I, sadly along with may others, RMA'd my two 970's. Again, this is NOT EVGA's fault!!! They get the reference card design from NVidia and incorporate some additional features like the dual BIOS, ACX 2.0 Cooling, over-clocking, video port configurations, etc. NVidia is the one who designs the baseline architecture. Also need to mention that Newegg was absolutely FANTASTIC in returning my two cards! And I still feel very strongly that EVGA is one of the best manufacturers out there! I've been running their products for ~8 years and have never EVER had a problem with anything that was within their control. I have now purchased the EVGA GTX 980 04G-P4-2986-KR and will review it after a month or so of heavy use. I'm not convinced the stutter issue will go away with this new card, but at this point what other options do I have?!? I'm certainly NOT going back to Radeon! LOL

Hot Deals 4 Less actually came through 100% on my Order!

I ordered 128GB of low latency CL14 DDR4 3200 G.Skill DRAM late on Sunday, 3/30 and Newegg estimated it would be delivered between April 2 - 8. They shipped it out by end of day Tuesday, 4/02 using 2 Day Air. It arrived Friday 4/04 well within predictions. The RAM was exactly as described and has been working great in my PC for a couple of weeks now. I know Hot Deals 4 Less got a lot of negative reviews in the past. And honestly, I almost jumped the gun and cancelled my order because of it, but I'm really glad I didn't! They came through for me, and I won't hesitate to order through them again because of it. Also, they had the best price on the RAM of any place I could find. They ended up saving me close to 40 dollars actually! So, my experience was totally positive! I'm hoping yours will be as well! If not, then at least you have Newegg Guarantee to fall back on if absolutely necessary. But hopefully it won't even come to that. You have to figure, they've been in business now for quite a while, and that was the one thing that helped me have patience and not to jump too quickly and cancel my Order (and again, I'm glad I didn't cancel it).
