Only way to get a new GPU

ABS Gladiator Gaming PC - Intel i9 9900K - GeForce RTX 3080 - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 1TB Intel M.2 NVMe SSD
ABS Gladiator Gaming PC - Intel i9 9900K - GeForce RTX 3080 - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 1TB Intel M.2 NVMe SSD

Pros: +Packaged securely and arrived 2 days before expected delievery date, UPS Air from California to Maryland. No damage. +Asus TUF Gaming OC +Asus MOBO with 3x M.2 slots (2 occupied) +850W DeepCool PSU (750 was spec but again... just lucky) +Case is not garish and RGB case fans have off setting.

Cons: -USB port unplugged -RGB controller was unplugged -RGB is rather limited in what it can do. -Cable management was so-so, but serviceable

Overall Review: i like Asus so i feel i got lucky on the "random" parts. Anyone who orders this is rolling the dice as far as exactly what specific brands they will get. This config might be the best, so don't count on it. Check your connections out before use. They are throwing these things together at break-neck pace and little things get missed. Overall i'm very pleased!

Solid construction with one major drawback

USB NVME SSD Hard Drive Enclosure Adapter USB 3.1 Type A Gen2 10Gbps for M Key M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD 2280 2260 2242 2230 mm Realtek RTL9210 Chipset
USB NVME SSD Hard Drive Enclosure Adapter USB 3.1 Type A Gen2 10Gbps for M Key M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD 2280 2260 2242 2230 mm Realtek RTL9210 Chipset

Pros: -Housing is solid aluminum. -PCB is well protected and is itself quite durable -No software required -UitTek customer service is outstanding

Cons: -Not compatible with all M.2 drives -Overall speed is only okay. Sustained 4K Random speed was 30.2 MBps. Burst speed is fantastic.

Overall Review: Its hard to recommend this knowing that I cannot use it for it's intended purpose, which was to make a portable flash drive out of my old M.2 drive after upgrading to a 2TB. Well, it just plain doesn't work with a Kingston HyperX Predator NVMe M-key SSD, despite all the documentation stating that it will. I contacted the seller, and they were very helpful and sent out a replacement for free, without me even sending the first one back. That's some stellar customer service. The second one didn't work either, so I re-installed my drive into the MOBO to see if there were any problems with it, and there wasn't. Booted into Windows as if it had never been pulled. Still, i ran DBAN on the drive wondering if there was some lingering boot manager files that were confusing the adapter. But even then, plugging in the completely blanked drive yielded nothing. A blue light comes on, and the drive gets warm, but it would never be recognized. I'm disappointed. It does work with an Intel 660p, so my unit doesn't seem to be defective, but that helps me none. Looking at the contacts on the Intel 660p, i notice several are blank. About half of them have no copper. On my Kingston, every single contact has copper. There isn't anything else distinguishing between the 2 drives. So how do i rate this? Everyone else seems pleased with it so far, and if i had only tried to use an Intel 660p drive on it, i certainly would have sung praise. But for having compatibility issues, i'm saying -3 eggs, and customer service was a +1 egg.

Solid buy

XPG SX8100 Series: 1TB M.2 NVMe 3D NAND Gen3 Gaming Internal SSD
XPG SX8100 Series: 1TB M.2 NVMe 3D NAND Gen3 Gaming Internal SSD

Pros: -NVMe for SATA price -no software needed -burst speeds are good -TLC is superior to QLC

Cons: -the hottest SSD i have used -discontinued item, no firmware support -TLC is inferior to MLC

Overall Review: i'm not finding much to fault with this purchase. i'm satisfied. writing a compressed 100GB file took 3:14, with the first 75GB taking almost exactly 1:15. the SLC cache appears to be 75GB, which can maintain 1GB/s write. temperature reached 75^C, which doesn't worry me, but it's hotter than any other SSD i've used and i don't have much to complain about. solid buy.

For PC use, it's great

Samsung NU8000 55" 4K UHD HDR Plus Smart TV UN55NU8000FXZA
Samsung NU8000 55" 4K UHD HDR Plus Smart TV UN55NU8000FXZA

Pros: -i play with it set to 1440p @120Hz and also use the backlight strobing (ULMB). NO BLUR! i specifically got this for gaming and in that regard, it excels. it has Free-Sync but i'd rather have the 120Hz personally. i have seen more than a few concerns about a ticking sound but i haven't heard anything. -i'm far from being an expert on proper color balance, but i think the factory color settings look great. i only adjusted brightness. -speakers are not bad, really. not offensively bad, anyway. a 100 watt powered sub would work well with what's here. -my TV is not smart, it is dumb. i like it that way, and i appreciate that Samsung doesn't force you to connect it to the internet at all.

Cons: -the center-mounted stand can wobble with washer loads (VESA mounting would be ideal) but it's no deal-breaker. doesn't seem like its going anywhere. -it's not clear in the instructions how to put the stand together, and you could easily mix-up the screws. they have exactly the same threads, just one set of screws are longer. "the longer ones go into the TV, the shorter ones hold the stand together. " - ^^ that quote would have saved me at LEAST 5 minutes of pure aggravation -no DisplayPort -it is not actually a monitor. TV won't go to sleep if computer is put to sleep. nor will it wake up when computer turns on. i could toss the remote in the bin were it not for these 2 facts.

Overall Review: -i've heard some complaints about the software and apps, so i just didn't do any of that. not needed for my use case, it's really just a big monitor. all the wi-fi and app setup is skippable. -i do wish there was a quick way to switch from 1440p@120Hz to 4K@60Hz. it's actually several annoying steps to go back and forth.

Substantial and well-built

KitchenAid Black
KitchenAid Black

Pros: its the quietest grinder i've ever used, substantially more quiet than previous ones. the removable cup makes it easier to fill the coffee maker. mostly steel construction resists oily build-up, cleaning is usually just brush it or if i'm being honest, do nothing. looks nice enough that i don't mind leaving it plugged in on the counter all the time.

Cons: there's no "set it and forget it" button; it uses a dead man's switch. the moment you let go, it stops. seems to build up a bit of static, the grounds tend to get clingy - might be a winter phenomenon.

Overall Review: i really like this grinder, mostly for how quiet it is. after hearing this one, i'm at a loss as to why other grinders i've used are so loud. i'd like a button, but a full cup of beans takes only a 12 count. the cord doesn't have a holder, or any convenient way of winding it up neatly - it generally just sits plugged in at all times so i don't mind too much. it's elegant.
