Great 1080p card

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 ATX Video Card GV-N1060WF2OC-6GD
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 ATX Video Card GV-N1060WF2OC-6GD

Pros: -I actually bought two of these i liked the first one so much. -backplate looks very clean in clear side panel cases -super easy overclocking software from Gigabyte

Cons: -Gigabyte really tried to make the mail in rebate as miserable as possible. Considered taking an egg of just for this, but it doesn't really reflect the great product.

Most Critical Review

Good for the price, but not great

DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 400 CPU Air Cooler 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan with Blue LED, Multi-platform Intel/AMD CPUs (AM4 Compatible)
DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 400 CPU Air Cooler 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan with Blue LED, Multi-platform Intel/AMD CPUs (AM4 Compatible)

Pros: -Very easy to install if you already have your motherboard installed - looks great -similar performance to the hyper 212 led but not exactly the same -looks great in my all black with blue LED build

Cons: -there is no bracket to place behind the motherboard to firmly hold this cooler on -I built two computers at the same time, and the other had a hyper 212 LED red model and i find it to be superior to this one, even though i paid $5 more for the 212.

Overall Review: -This would be perfect if you already have a build and need to replace the CPU cooler and you dont want to have to take out the motherboard. Sometimes it can be a big pain to remove the motherboard to insert a bracket on the backside. If you are doing a fresh build i would recommend getting the 212 LED but if you are upgrading a current build and do not want to have to take out the motherboard this uses the same installation as the standard intel cooler with the push pins.

The future

WD Black 256GB Performance SSD - M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive - WDS256G1X0C
WD Black 256GB Performance SSD - M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive - WDS256G1X0C

Pros: -Crazy speeds compared even to Sata III SSD's -Some say you cant notice the difference between SATA III SSD's and NVME, but it really depends on what you are doing. I just built two new systems for an intensive workload with ryzen 7 1700x processors and times have been cut down by almost 15x. (How much is due to the drive is impossible to say) -At the time the $ to performance was really good for these drives, and so i opted for these cheaper ones compared to the Samsung 960 evo's, and i would do it again.

Cons: -Has a much cheaper look compared with the more premium NVMe's that are out there, but if you just need performance these work great. -Read and writes along with rated MTF aren't as great as some other products, but I am very happy.

Overall Review: -don't do yourself a disservice by buying a Sata III SSD anymore, unless it is for mass storage. Why limit your pc, when you can put this right into all decent motherboards and have much better performance at nearly the same price.

Great mouse if getting the previous gen doesnt bother you

RAZER DeathAdder RZ01-00151400-R3U1 Black Wired Optical Precision Gaming Mouse - 3.5G Infrared Sensor
RAZER DeathAdder RZ01-00151400-R3U1 Black Wired Optical Precision Gaming Mouse - 3.5G Infrared Sensor

Pros: -Fires right up with the Razer software -great aesthetics -I have large hands and this is perfect for me

Cons: -none that i have noticed

Overall Review: -Not their fault, i used it with the plastic underneath attached for about a week and i thought the mouse was fairly substandard, but once i grew half a brain and noticed there was a plastic sheet underneath it is a great mouse lol

No point in spending more on a 1080, unless you really care about LED's

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Video Card GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Video Card GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD

Pros: -great performance -great aesthetics if you dont mind the lack of LED's -The current $ to performance king, given the inflated prices of the mid tier cards. (today the cheapest 1070 is $440) -If you are just looking for performance, and a basic, but sleek aesthetic this is the gpu for you

Cons: -Honestly a great card, the 3rd I've purchased, no cons besides the lack of LEDs

Overall Review: -In my personal rig i have the Aorus 1080 ti, with the wacky GPU prices right now from crypto mining, you should really not consider a mid teir card. Get a 1080/1080ti or an RX460/1050/1050ti.

Amazing Performance, Easy Software, Horrible GPU Sag

GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Video Card GV-N108TAORUS-11GD
GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Video Card GV-N108TAORUS-11GD

Pros: -Nvidia really outdid themselves with this card, crazy performance -Maxes out my Predator 165 hz 1440p monitor on most games - looks good and feels premium -With the current prices of mid tier GPU's you might as well just go for it and get the top of the line. The $ per frame is actually fairly linear which is uncommon in flagship GPUs

Cons: -This card is so fat, that of course it started sagging within two months. Honestly the look bothers me. Most people that are spending this kind of money on a GPU have a showcase pc. I have a super nice case with a tempered glass side, and the LED's all look great, but after just a short amount of time you can really see the sag in the card. I'm going to have to ghetto rig this card with some fishing line tied to the top of my case and just pray the LED's don't make the line glow super noticeably.

Overall Review: -The card is a beast and the huge cooler makes it run really cool, but its give and take. If you don't mind GPU sag then this behemoth is perfect for you. GPU sag doesn't affect performance at all, but honestly it bothers me because i really care about the way my PC looks. -Got unlucky with this card, is very stable at the OEM overclock, but i cant get anything extra out of it even playing with voltage and thermal limits. -Removing a single egg because of the Sag
