Perfect fit, Strong and quiet

SeaSonic SS-400ET 400 W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.91 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
SeaSonic SS-400ET 400 W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.91 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: 80+ Certified and underside 120mm fan with good rear perferation. Definately lowest noise addition to the system. Connections should be adequate for most out there running one video card. 24 pin motherboard connection can be reduced to 20 pin.

Cons: None I can think of though my time with this product and company is limited. If my experience changes, so will my review.

Overall Review: Has two 17amp rails like any 500W PSU by Seasonic. Has 20 amps on the 3.3 and 5 volt rails instead of 24 losing its SLI/Crossfire certification. A Dual GPU card would probably work fine so long as you limit your amount of hard drives and use a wattage efficient processor, not some absurd 140W beast (AMD, please go 45nm... It's Q4 already). As you'll realize, I'm not stressing it much. AMD 4450E X2 @ 45 Watts AMD 760g chipset motherboard, using onboard video. Most Critical Review

S/PDIF issues. Hardly Perfect.

ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Unlocked my Athlon II X3 435 into a full Phenom II 935 (2.9GHZ) which is its saving grace. Onboard graphics where capable enough for XBMC. PCIx 1x slot intellegently placed behind the graphics card. Bought this to be a HTPC board that could decode H.264 with brute CPU up to 20Mbit however...

Cons: The Ethernet port died within an hour. Simply will not acknowledge a cable plugged in. Fortunate that PCIx 1x slot isn't blocked by a GPU Heatsink as I had a spare 1GBit Lan adapter. Minor issues in Ubuntu forced me to install my Geforce 9800 for VDPAU however with any graphics adapter installed ALL S/PDIF FUNCTIONALITY BECOMES DISABLED! No matter what I do in bios no digital audio connections are available in ANY O/S. Really irritating.

Overall Review: I know the LAN issue is a fluke... I can live with that. But why have a S/PDIF header on the board near the PCIx16 if only to disable it if a Video Card is installed?!?!? Lame design

Perfectly fine for what it is.

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Graphics Card 04G-P4-2976-KR

Pros: Every game in my steam account just went max settings. Only my CPU holds me back. Cool running card. If solo screen FHD is your thing there's no need or reason to overclock. Fans only need run when actually gaming. Biggest boon on that is fan life.

Cons: Yes... the dreaded segmented memory issue. Not commenting on it is like not talking about the elephant in the room. Probably won't be able to do much if any 4K gaming with it but, really... that still requires a 980 ti (or two). It's a con, but not one I'm stressed over and I researched it before I bought it. It's not THAT big a deal and still worth the price when on sale, all things considered. I'm not taking an egg off cuz that's not really fair to NewEgg or EVGA. nVidia will learn to be much more open about any future cards with segmented memory.

Overall Review: Going from a 1Gb Geforce 560 ti to this. I'll probably won't be going beyond 1080p gaming for a good while yet so this will easily last me more than the 4.5 years like the 560 did. This is my first new EVGA but hardly my first nVidia. Always respected EVGA from the spare parts handed to and how they handle warranty issues. Feels nice to have something modern again, and this time not a total budget card.

This is what Dontnod need to keep doing.

Life is Strange Season Pass [Online Game Code]
Life is Strange Season Pass [Online Game Code]

Pros: It's a steam code without actually having to get it through steam's site (which tacks on your state sales tax). Plus this was subject to quite a deal at time of purchase. As for the game, I'm really into the whole episodic release idea. I think Dontnod found their stride with this game. In game navigation is rather clever and beyond other examples in this genre. Game runs well on a variety of hardware thankyou Unreal engine.

Cons: Just being honest, it's already been said, the facial animation and lip sync is poor in episode 1, ok by episode 3. It's definitely got a small studio feel with issues like that. It's 2015. Facial animation and detail is behind the the original Mass Effect of year 2007. Not so bad it's not forgivable. It's the only glaring issue I have with it. Others complain the characters are all one sided and the writing is a bit cliched and a touch aged. So what. There's far worse examples of this out there. They're a French studio. Some inaccuracy is expected.

Overall Review: Dontnod found what they do best in this genre. Remember Me could have been good but their combat system was something that could only be loved by developers and testers who game for a living. I couldn't be bothered to finish Remember Me. I'm eagerly waiting the next episode of Life is Strange. People are going to forget Remember Me. There's a possibility Dontnod will be linked to Life is Strange for a very long time if the first season pans out well.

Needed it to work... went with samsung.

SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7PD128BW
SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7PD128BW

Pros: I've never had problems with a newegg purchase but I've always bought on reputation. That it was the fastest at time of purchase was just a bonus. Waited until the firmware debacle was resolved before purchase, never had an issue.

Cons: Assassin's Creed III coupon didn't work as you have to go through Ubisoft instead of Steam. Every distributor has to have their own online store these days but I digress... no issues with the drive at all.

Overall Review: Remember your Windows Swap File is, by default, as large as your installed memory. It must only be large enough on your boot drive to do a Kernel Memory dump (512MB is safe). Also you can move your 'User' folder to a hard drive with use of the mklink and robocopy commands in a repair console. This actually increased my boot speed. GIYF. Newegg... Why am I seeing that with some Samsung SSDrives I have add to the cart and make it all the way to checkout to see a price? Bad enough you have to add to cart to see the price but all the way to checkout? At time of writing I see all your Samsung 840 Pro prices are higher than your main competitor and they display their prices rather plainly. So... why this process with you? Call Samsung, use that fact, and put an end to this practice.

Good board, but beware old reviews

GIGABYTE GA-A75-UD4H FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-A75-UD4H FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Completely stable with a minor overclock. Unlike other boards the second PCIx16 slot is 8x as opposed to 4x. Has any connectivity I think I'd ever need.

Cons: This board got a recommendation from tweaktown partially based on the fact that this board could manipulate the multiplier of an otherwise locked fusion APU. The first review on NewEgg here leads you to believe the same. However after updating the bios from the stock F2 version to F4 the Multiplier on the 2.9GHZ the multiplier could be set no higher than 29x. I was forced to update the bios because I couldn't enter bios with my USB keyboard. Rather than go out and buy a new motherboard I keep a PS/2 keyboard around for just such situations. I also do not believe the temps I see reported. Some temps for the CPU cores and GPU unit read 11-13c @ idle. My Arctic 64 never dipped lower than 17c on a Athlon X2 4450e (45watt) so I know that's bogus. There's also a 200c reading from something but nothing's smoking, either, and nothing is hot to the touch.

Overall Review: A8-3850 with G.Skill F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL Running a 4MHZ increase on the FSB to push the CPU to 3GHZ and the memory to 1940mhz. If you can't enter bios using your USB keyboard you 'could' blow money in a haste on another board if you enjoy lots of disposable income. I guarantee a PS/2 keyboard will be a far more economical investment. A bios update will also fix it.
