Pros: Still love the way it looks. Love that fresh-out-of-the-box smell. Mmmmmm....
Cons: COUPLE OF THINGS HERE: 1 ) The product specification said 8 four-pin connectors, which led me to believe there were 8 molex connections: there are only 6. I still have plenty of connections, but it's good to know ( I can use SATA on the hdd ). And it's very difficult to tell with the pictures exactly what all connectors it has, so had to go by specs . 2) There are 4 SATA connectors, not two. 3) Also ( not a big deal, people probably know this ): specs list 4-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS separately: it is two four-pin connectors, NOT a 4-pin AND an 8-pin. But just in case someone didn't realize it... So, except for the wrong number of molex connectors, the wrong number of sata connectors, and a slightly misleading description of the ATX connector, everything else seems accurate enough.
Overall Review: Oh, yeah: It even comes with a MANUAL with all sorts of color pictures detailing the components and how to connect everything...really neat. I didn't need it, but that's nice for the person installing their first psu.
We are NOT amused
Pros: Worked perfectly for a few months.
Cons: Then it crapped out. Made abolutely sure all of my IDE slots are functioning properly -- they are. It just stopped working! DOH!! ( good thing I also got a USB hub at the same time... )
Overall Review: I went cheap, and that's exactly what I got!
Good Product WITH SIGNIFICANT CAVEAT!!
Pros: It's Western Digital - they're excellent drives, what do you excpect?
Cons: WARNING: NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS XP The product description clearly says these are compatible with Windows XP and up; in fact, that's one of the reasons I purchased two of these, on sale - my work computer is XP (!), and I needed a large capacity drive to transfer stuff between work and home. Anyhoo, right on the box it says comaptible with Windows 7 and up; I tried in on XP machines - they do not recognize the drives. But I am still giving a 5-egg rating because they're good quality, as expected. Unfortunately for me, I let both of these drives sit around for longer than 30 days before checking them out (assuming all was as it should be), so I'm stuck with them; I can certainly use them, of course, but all very irritating and disappointing.
Overall Review: Works fine on a Windows 7 Pro. Newegg, please make sure the product descriptions are accurate.
Still Love It!
Pros: This is a follow-up review; originally reviewed on 1/9/2014 Put this in a new build in October 2013; still going strong/ In fact, it's going so well, I think I'm going to myself a second one for Christmas!
Cons: After 14 months, none.
Overall Review: This card sees heavy use in graphic-intensive applications, including online gaming, and I have had exactly zero problems or complaints about the performance.
Pros: I. Love. This. Game. Been playing for a long time. Multiplayer games are awesome, and Zombie mode is something I NEVER get tired of. For the PC version, there are so many custom maps and mods for regular mode and zombie mode it's mind-boggling.
Overall Review: Install; Run patches, which are easy to find! Go find custom maps and mods Play till ya can't play no more.
Pros: Put 2 of these little babies in a new build, along with: - Intel i7-3770k Ivy Bridge quad-core - 16GB RAM - 2 high-capacity HDs - 1200W Thermaltake psu - Windows 7 Pro And good gravy,, I can't believe how fast, cool and quiet these thing are! The 2 drives are my C: (boot) and D: drives; once I hit the power button, I'm fully booted and ready to go in about 30 seconds.
Cons: The price. Seriously, SSD technology has been out for a while now, so what's up with these ridiculous prices?? I spent $2300 on my new build: $360 of that was for these two 250GB drives. Yes, they're cool, they're quite, they have no moving parts, and are faster that all get-out, but, oh, man, the price gouging on SSDs is worse than video cards.
Overall Review: Fact of the matter is, they rock, and their performance is outta sight. But I'm a cheapskate, and the price tag truly irks me. But, as they say, you get what you pay for, and these puppies are absolutely delivering. So: 5 eggs, and definitely recommend....if you can afford 'em. (I've been saving for 2 years for this build!)
