Unsatisfactory RMA policy
Pros: Fast, runs at default speed 1866 on motherboards that support it. Has been generally stable and without issues on most of the systems.
Cons: Bad experience with RMA on one these kits. This kit was causing our motherboard to constantly reboot even before the POST. We were able to reproduce the behaviour on multiple motherboards. A replacement RAM kit would boot these motherboards just fine, so we were sure problem was with the particular kit. When we sent the it for RMA, it was refused because we did not have the bar code from the packaging. I would think the serial number from the DIMMs should have enough information for corsair to support this product but seems like they would use any excuse to refuse the RMA if possible. Very disappointing. Going forward we would look for RAM from a manufacturer who would stand behind their product.
Overall Review: We have built around 20 machines with these kits with two of them resulting in the above mentioned failure. Too bad we cannot get these replaced because we did not save the original packaging (clamshell).
Compact but comfortable
Pros: Compact, sturdy, looks good. Has been working fine for last month or so.
Cons: And indicator for Function lock would have been handy in certain situations.
Overall Review: When I received the package, I thought they forgot to include the USB transceiver. After a bit of search I found it hidden in the battery compartment for mouse.
Non standard mounting holes
Pros: The open design gives me clear view of the drive inside. No more doubts if the drive is fully inserted or not.
Cons: There is a big one, at least for me. The mounting holes for the enclosure are not standard 6-32. This makes this enclosure unusable for me. I hope they fix this problem in next version because I really like this design. Until then I have to revert to the older version :(
