Great Hard Drive

Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive ST903203FDA2E1-RK Red
Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive ST903203FDA2E1-RK Red

Pros: 5400 RPM is plenty fast for what most people use an external hard drive for (back-up of movies, pictures, documents, etc.) I transfered a file a little over 1GB in about 50-60 seconds. The size of the device is great. It really can fit in your back pocket like a wallet (I wouldn't recommend putting it there though, because if you forget it is there and sit down...well better safe then sorry). The red color is also very nice.

Cons: I read many reviews stating the USB cord is much too short. While this may be true, I just don't see it much of a problem. Most computers have frontside USB connections and if you're plugging it into a laptop then why would you need more then a foot of cord?

Overall Review: I saw this same hard drive at a local retailer for $115 the same week I bought it from Newegg.com. It's always a good feeling when you know you got a good deal.

Solid mouse for my laptop

Redragon M995 Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse, 26000 DPI Wired/Wireless Gamer Mouse, BT & 2.4G Wireless, 6 Macro Buttons, 51G Ultra Lightweight, Reliable Power Capacity for PC/Mac/Laptop, Black
Redragon M995 Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse, 26000 DPI Wired/Wireless Gamer Mouse, BT & 2.4G Wireless, 6 Macro Buttons, 51G Ultra Lightweight, Reliable Power Capacity for PC/Mac/Laptop, Black

Pros: Up and running in seconds. The software is super simple with no frills. However, its not a bad thing.

Overall Review: It surprised me how good this mouse performs for how cheap it was on a group buy. I havent gamed on it yet as my wife and I had a baby recently but weve been using the mouse with my laptop on the kitchen table for 4 weeks now and I still have not had to charge it. I feel like this is a good mouse whether you call it a budget mouse or not.

Nice mATX case

Fractal Design Pop Mini Air RGB White TG mATX High-Airflow Clear Tempered Glass Window Tower Computer Case
Fractal Design Pop Mini Air RGB White TG mATX High-Airflow Clear Tempered Glass Window Tower Computer Case

Pros: Building in this case was a breeze. Im not new to pc building but I could see this being easy even for a beginner. The 4 included fans are also surprisingly quiet. I like how the RGB can be controlled by pressing and or holding the button on the top.

Cons: The type c usb connector has to be purchased separately which I ended doing since this will become more handy as time marches on.

Overall Review: Overall I think this is a very good choice for a mATX build which is a nice form factor (not too big and not too small).

Solid MB

MSI MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel B660 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Build quality is excellent! Probably one of the best B660M motherboards available (certainly in the micro ATX form factor anyways).

Overall Review: Used in a 12600K build for the wife and everything worked out great. You could easily step up to an i7 or even an i9 with this motherboard given the beefy heat sinks and solid VRMs. I appreciate the built in heat sinks for the 2 m.2 slots as well since this eliminates the need to spend more on an ssd that comes with a heat sink. Its something to think about when considering a cheaper board.

Still going strong since 2013!

SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I have had no issues in 6 years! Transferred it over to my second build with a Ryzen 3700X and 1080ti. It was a smooth transition. The black cable sleeves are great!

Overall Review: 620W is more than enough. It's powering a 3700X, 1080ti, 2 SSDs, 1 mechanical hard drive, 6 fans, and even a blu-ray drive...yup I actually have a disc drive in my computer in 2019. Whatever...it comes in handy once a year :)

Best Motherboard I've owned

MSI PERFORMANCE GAMING B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC AM4 AMD B450 ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI PERFORMANCE GAMING B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC AM4 AMD B450 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Great build quality! I definitely like the all black. Not only does it match my case which is all black, but it also matches anything you put in it. The RGB lights are subtle and add a nice touch. The sound quality is miles better than my previous motherboard and I'm more of a videophile than an audiophile so I wasn't even concerned with that. What a cool bonus! I put in Patriot Viper 4 Series DDR4 3200MHz RAM and had no problem getting the advertised speed using the XMP profile.

Cons: A few others have mentioned this, but there could be maybe just a couple more USB ports. It's not a deal breaker by any means...just would be nice.

Overall Review: Somehow I found a way to use every last fan header. Maybe overkill on my part :)
