Pros: Value. It's hard to beat the price/performance ratio of this product. The drive performs properly right out of the box. There were no installation hiccups.

Cons: OEM drive, so if you require good documentation you'll have to find it on your own.

Pros: Easy to install, works as advertised.

Cons: IR receiver tends to hang. Also, it suddenly stopped working one night. I heard a rattle, so I took it apart and the IR LED had come off of the PCB. The solder points on the PCB are little metal circles held in place with some kind of black glue. the circles themselves game unglued in such a way that the LED cannot be soldered back in. You can tell this thing was assembled on the cheap. Now I can't even use it to teach a universal remote. Disappointment.
