Most Critical Review

Works well when it works

TRENDnet 4-Port USB KVM Switch Kit, VGA And USB Connections, 2048 x 1536 Resolution, Cabling Included, Control Up To 4 Computers, Compliant With Window, Linux, and Mac OS, White, TK-407K
TRENDnet 4-Port USB KVM Switch Kit, VGA And USB Connections, 2048 x 1536 Resolution, Cabling Included, Control Up To 4 Computers, Compliant With Window, Linux, and Mac OS, White, TK-407K

Pros: * affordable 4-port switch * comes with 4 cables * switches nicely between linux and windows machines

Cons: * Switch locks up about once a week, requiring a power cycle. * Specialized cables merge VGA and USB onto one plug

Overall Review: A power cycle wouldn't be so bad, if not for the fact that this thing is USB powered, so to do so you have to unplug all connected computers. Hey, I guess it's still better then having 4 keyboards laying around. Still, I'd sink my money into a nicer non-TrendNet unit and save yourself the trouble.
