Zero Coasters
Pros: I've burned over 50 disks of this brand with zero coasters. For all brands combined, I've had two coasters out of hundreds of disks. One of those was an obviously scratched media (my fault). See other thoughts.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I never put a load on my machine when burning. I'm guessing that is the cause of many coasters here. Shut down all other apps, start the burn, & go get some fresh air. Leave it alone till it's done. Older machine but the RAID 0 SSDs keep it humming. BD burner: LG WH12LS38 Software: Nero Burning ROM 12, Panasonic HD Writer AE 3.0, Nero Video 12. MB: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P45 CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 oc'd to 3.2GHz RAM: 8GB DDR2 Video: EVGA Nvidia GTX 460 1GB HD1: 2 SSD Corsair Force 3 120GB running in RAID 0 HD2: WD 750GB OS: Win 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 w/ updates
OK @ 4x
Pros: Had a couple coasters @ 6x but zero @ 4x. This is my 2nd pack and so far, no coasters @4x. Of course, the real test is time. Hopefully, by the time it matters all this stuff will be on our backed up petabyte or exabyte drives.
Cons: They won't burn consistently @ 6x.
Overall Review: LGA 775 Win 7 x64 machine with LG SH12LS38 BD drive and various burning softwares.
Pretty Good
Pros: -I got an RTX 3080 quickly. -It performs well. -I'm not having the heat issues others are having. -Other than what's noted in cons, everything worked out of the box.
Cons: -If you still need an optical drive, there is no place for an internal one. -One of the fans wasn't connected. It didn't come apart during shipping. The way it was zip tied, it could not reach a connector. It's an easy fix but their QA could be a little better. -One of the fans is starting to rattle. -The RAM was clocked below "spec" in the BIOS. I bumped it up without issue.
Overall Review: I've been building my own PCs for a long time. I bought this one for the RTX 3080 card, same as many. I've had it a month now and I'm reasonably satisfied. If you're handy with a PC, you'll be fine. If you have others repair your machine, plan for one trip based on the reviews and my experience. I did bump the license up from Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro. It's more flexible and less irritating when running on a local account (vs. an invasive MS account). I've played several games with video settings maxed out including Control in RTX mode and I've yet to have anything other than smooth running. I put covers over the ports on the top. Never been a fan of them there. Crud gets in and stays there.
Works fine
Pros: Works great at rated speed and timings.
Cons: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 MB didn't correctly recognize the RAM speed or timings and underclocked it. I had to go into the BIOS and fix it manually. I don't know whether to ding the RAM or the board so I gave the RAM the benefit of the doubt. The SPD numbers look correct in CPU-z which leans to a problem on the board. I haven't tried to OC it. So far, no need for the hassle.
Overall Review: It is a little taller than some RAM. Not a problem on my board and case but could be on small form factors, small cases, or CPUs with fat CPU coolers. MB: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer LGA 1150 Case: Massive Antec tower CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K Haswell Quad-Core 4.0GHz CPU Cooler: Intel OEM
Very Nice
Pros: All parts of the necklace and sapphire pendant are of good quality and craftsmanship.
Cons: The stone was a little darker than I hoped, certainly darker than the picture, but still very nice. Well worth the money.
So far, so good!
Pros: Bought it for my son a few months before he went to college so he'd have time to get used to it. He loves it. Big screen. Full keyboard. Full numpad. Reasonably thin. Good price. Dedicated graphics. Minimal crapware to remove. He hasn't loaded any current demanding games yet. He has an older FPS that runs well. Office 2013 runs well on it.
Cons: It's really big. That computer bag you thought you were going to recycle for this machine probably won't fit. No backlit keys but none were specified. HD is not fast but my son hasn't complained about it.
Overall Review: I should have said my son loves it all except for Windows 8. He's getting used to that too. I taped a "WinKey shortcuts" cheat sheet below the numpad. That helped both him and myself a lot as the metro GUI is NOT intuitively obvious. The included AV license is only three months so be sure to upgrade before it expires.
