Best power supply I've ever owned
Pros: Provides plenty of power for multi gfx card machines, plenty of power connectors for all types of devices. Cables are long enough for just about any case. Single 12v rail means less work for me =D
Cons: My only complaint is that it isn't modular - I have a bit of a cable mess in the corner of my case from the ones I didn't need =)
Failed after 18 months
Pros: Worked great for the first 18 months
Cons: After 18 months of use, the drive has suddenly died overnight without warning.
Overall Review: I tried replacing the SATA cable, plugging into a different SATA slot, using my USB docking station, plugging it into a different computer - nothing will recognize it (won't show in my BIOS, recovery console, windows explorer via USB dock). It powers up but isn't making any abnormal noise. I lost a lot of data that I hadn't backed up, which is of course my own fault; lesson learned. I've just never had a drive die so quickly, without warning, and not be recoverable through do-it-yourself means. I will not be purchasing Samsung/Seagate drives again.
Dying fan
Pros: Semi modular Never had any power related issues Looks good in the case
Cons: After owning the PSU for about 3 months, it developed a very irritating fan ticking noise. I understand that occasional lemons will slip through the cracks, but a quick google shows that this seems to be a pretty common problem with XFX's XXX series. Whether they cheaped out on the fan, are slipping in quality control, or this is just a widespread fluke, I couldn't say. But I do know that I can't eat the 2-4 weeks of RMA downtime when my income relies on working from home. If XFX could implement an advanced RMA policy similar to EVGA or Corsair, that'd be swell. Also, the cables feel a bit too short, but my case is huge so that isn't entirely their fault.
Not angry, but wouldn't buy again
Pros: - Clear sound - Microphone quality - Comfortable AFTER break-in period - Plantronics RMA is painless
Cons: - Build quality. After owning these for about 6 months, the plastic headband snapped, leaving the left ear cup/microphone dangling. Shortly after, the right ear cup snapped off where it attaches to the headband. I am not hard on my equipment, and was surprised when they fell apart. Could've just been a lemon. I shipped my headset to the Plantronics Service Center, and received a brand new set back from them about 2 weeks later. - Not as much bass as I hoped for. - 5.1 Surround Sound is questionable.
Overall Review: For once, I actually didn't buy this from Newegg. Couldn't resist a nearly 50% discount from another site. Still love the 'egg though, and can't say enough good things about my satisfaction with them.
Great cooler for the price
Pros: Cools very well, my e8500 runs at about 27 degrees idle.
Cons: Push-pins were created by Satan to push mankind into the sin of frustration related suicide.
Overall Review: Buy the mounting bracket, and don't forget the artic silver 5 thermal grease.
Highly Recommended
Pros: Great layout. Performs very well, easy to tweak.
Cons: The only concern I had when purchasing this board was the loss of Crossfire performance on a P45 chipset vs an X48 board, but the performance loss is so slight that it isn't worth the extra 100 dollars for a decent X48 board.
