Top notch microphone
Pros: Fantastic voice quality for whoever you are talking too. The noise cancellation works well. The mic boom is not obtrusive and even when lowered out of sight, it can still hear you OK. I get compliments about the quality.
Cons: The narrow headband kind of digs into your head a bit rather than spreading out the weight like a wider band would. Ear cups are not particularly comfortable but that may just be a personal preference.
Junk
Pros: Sound quality was good for voice.
Cons: Microphone was DOA. The package was a nightmare to open. Speakers did not sit flat against the ear and there is no adjustment. And of course a lot of hoops to jump through to return it.
Lessons Learned
Pros: I was thrilled with the drive, my first USB3. Amazing fast. Newegg as usual packed it well and delivered quickly. Price was good too. Reviews as of August '12 were all good, I felt I had made a good purchase. I got the drive so that I could dump about 20 smaller disks from years past that I had archived. It took me several days because I was working from a laptop so I had to use USB converters. The other disks were running USB 2.1 and were painfully slow so it took several days. Then it took another 2 weeks to sort and combine all those archives. After that I felt good and was happy to finally get that over.
Cons: One month later, the drive will not power up. It's not behaving like a faulty disk. I am 100% positive it is the power supply in the enclosure. I plug it in and no lights, no disk spin-up, nothing. As stated above, I have almost 3 weeks of my time tied up in this drive. The data on the drive is personal enough that I would not send it back, especially knowing that Buffalo will likely take the disk out, throw the defective case in the trash, and send it to someone else with my data on it. I have received RMA drives/phones with previous data. That's not happening, so I am basically stuck with this. My guess = defective component in the power supply in the enclosure and the drive is likely intact. I will remove it, void the warranty, and mount it elsewhere later. A bit annoying that warranties have this confidentiality factor that makes you wonder if you should take them up on it. If its DOA, then of course you send it back at your expense, but what if you have data on the drive? And also, I gave the case a good once-over and I still haven't figured out how to take it apart without destroying it. That's annoying.
Overall Review: Lessons learned: 1. If using Win 7, use the Bit Locker feature to encrypt your data. Or Truecrypt or whatever. That way, your data is useless to everyone else if you need to send the disk back. 2. Enclosures are dirt cheap. Hard drives are expensive. You don't want to combine their warranties. The cheap-o enclosure fails, and now my expensive 3TB disk has no warranty if i remove it and just send the defective part back. They should set it up like that instead of worrying about that 1 in a 1000 case that someone will buy a product from them only to swap in their own defective disk to pull a scam. From now on I will just buy my own enclosure and keep the disk as a separate purchase.
Bad experience
Pros: RMA request approved quickly.
Cons: Ordered on the 17th and received 9 days later on the 27th. Charging case had wear/tear and the battery will not hold a charge. Had to pay $8 for a return shipping label. Very disappointed with all of this.
Love it
Pros: Super quiet, like a high quality laptop keyboard. Range is terrific, regardless of sensor placement. Mouse has nice slippery bottom too. Worked within 10 seconds of plugging in the USB, no drivers required! Oversized Backspace key really helps with all my typos!
Cons: Mouse sometimes sits crooked in the charger; I'm never really sure if its charging (no indicator light). If you wiggle it a little it seats correctly, but I would prefer an indicator light to be sure.
Overall Review: I'm thrilled with this... especially the ease of use with RF. No more bluetooth connect buttons, or worrying about losing the connection periodically.
