CPU tested good. backlit tested good. battery tested good. touchpad is a bit flaky, recommend using external mouse. screen tested good. no dead pixels. RAM tested good. it has 2 sticks of 4gb of hyundai electronics manufacture PC3 12800 DDRL3. recommend name brand RAM. Hard drive is 1TB Samsung manufacture. CPU is intel 4th gen. mobo is ASUS. BIOS is american megatrends UEFI bios. graphics tested good nvidia geforce 765. everything works flawlessly. By far one of the BEST and fastest laptops I have ever seen. HDMI connection works. VGA works. you have to use fn+f4 key to turn on the backlit keyboard. Windows updates work fine and will update to windows 8.1 , Hard drive is very SLOW. recommend installing SSD for faster calculations. RAM is slow. recommended to install more RAM and it will work much faster. broadcom 802.11 ac wireless NIC works flawless and tested good. will give you excellent signal strength. Qualcomm Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30) cat5 connection works and tested. This laptop is super fast. The only problem is the hard drive is very slow. it needs SSD. back cover is very easy to open to install SSD and RAM. if you want to boot from a CD ROM or DVD. you must disable secure boot and turn on regular bios and then during startup you have to press ESC to get into boot options to boot from CD/DVD. batter dies out quickly. nothing much can be done about that. This laptop will not work in LINUX. the qualcomm atheros ethernet NIC and broadcom wireless NIC are NOT compatible with LINUX. So, if you are going only LINUX. beware of this issue. you may want manually mount the NIC to linux tell it use the drivers. I had trouble with SUSE LINUX. Try using Fedora or RED HAT. Overall, this baby is FAST. Thanks NEWEGG. this laptop is a BEAST. even though being refurshibed, looks brand spanking new to me. so far everything works on this laptop. no issues. by far one of the best products ever. I will update later if any issues. runs really cool. no overheating issues.

Overall Review: I work from Home and the Qualcomm Atheros ethernet NIC card. It works perfectly fine under windows 8.1 , But when I load my VMware SUSE Linux boot disk provided by my company. For some reason it is not letting me connect to my company server. It keeps giving me error saying "could not connect to server" . Here is the interesting fact, The same VMware SUSE Linux boot disk will allow my Dell laptop which is old BTW and it has a Realtek ethernet NIC card. This Dell laptop will let me connect to my company server when I load my VMware boot CD. So, I am just trying to understand why my Qualcomm Atheros ethernet NIC card is not working with VMware. Maybe because it may not be compatible with the SUSE Linux VMware Boot CD.
