Great Hard Drive

Pros: It's a champ. For the price its a great deal. no issues at all
Cons: none
Be Careful

Pros: It's big
Cons: Be aware. This model has had ongoing issues with the DVI port not supporting the native resolution of 1920x1200. Mine had a manufactured date of Feb 07 and it had this problem. I read the reviews and saw people having this issue but put my faith in Acer that they had enough time to fix this, but that wasn't the case. I sent it back to Acer rather than have to pay Newegg more money to restock it and get a replacement. So now I wait.
Overall Review: Just like everybody else, I called Acer tech support and of course they've never heard of this problem. Not sure what other reviewers are referring to as a bios update to fix this issue. It's a freaking monitor, there is no communications port to update any bios. Acer says it will be returned and fixed in 7-10 days, so we'll see. $35 to ship it back to them, ouch. It better get fixed in one try.
Obsolete, thankfully

Pros: ...I'm thinking.
Cons: Everything. It gets really hot after extended usage, It never worked properly in Vista 32 or 64 bit nor W7 64bit. The software is garbage and for the very few times it has displayed channels it wasn't without problems. Certainly not a reliable device.
Overall Review: Seriously, nothing makes me more happy than to know its old and there are much better products around. Not sure why I still have it. Perhaps I hold on to the hope that Pinnacle will get the drivers working correctly. I think it's time for me to move on though.
Solid Player

Pros: I bought this unit for both the blu-ray playback as well as the playback from the PC. The idea of playing movies from my PC through the wireless connection gave me goosebumps. As advertised, I hooked it all up and was watching movies from my PC.
Cons: Every so often it plays a movie from my PC or burned disc very laggy. I thought it was a network issue but when i burned the movie to a disc, it did the same thing. Turns out it was a codec issue. When i converted it to another format it played perfect. Another con is not being able to save network shares. You have to enter the ip, username, share name and password each time you access it. But it does remember them for you. Just wish i could hit a single button to connect rather than go through the login process everytime.
Overall Review: Not really a con but when you search for a network share automatically it won't find it. I have to do it manually but its no biggie.

Pros: none
Cons: none
Overall Review: Remember that XP 32bit will not recognize over something like 2.8 gb's of RAM. you'll need a 64bit system if you want to take advantage of the full four GB's that you have
Does its job

Pros: It's fast and even faster when OC'd. Stays cool and I didn't notice it running much hotter than my E6600 despite the four cores. Mine OC'd to 3.2 without any problems and runs very stable. Everyone complains about the heatsink and it does seem a bit gimpy. I use the Zalmon 9700 and it does a good job of keeping it cool.
Cons: Of course it can handle more load than my E6600, but overall it doesn't feel much more powerful with most programs but thats because most don't take advantage of the multi-thread capabilities, except my Maya 2008 64bit. It renders much faster on the Quad because it does use all four cores and thats the sole reason I bought it.
Overall Review: For 95% of the users out there, I don't think a Quad is necessary. But for the 5% who feel its necessary its probably more because they have money to burn than out of pure necessity. lol But thats the consequence of being a computer nerd(not excluding myself of course).
