Good Value

SABRENT SATA-2PRD PCI SATA eSATA-150 Raid External 2Ports + 5V/12V DC output PCI card
SABRENT SATA-2PRD PCI SATA eSATA-150 Raid External 2Ports + 5V/12V DC output PCI card

Pros: Allows usage of SATA hard drive (with older systems) provided you also purchase eSATA enclosure. In raid 0 avg read is 105MB on 33MHz PCI bus. The price is right.

Cons: Unit shipped did not have BIOS flashed on board. It took 5 hrs to figure out I had to manually install BIOS onto board inorder to setup raid (F4 boot option is not available without doing this nor does Windows GUI allow raid config without flashing bios to board). The instructions only say hit F4 to setup raid during boot. After BIOS installation RAID worked in 2 minutes. Phone call to company for support end with an answering machine at 2PM Monday. The drivers come on a CD with driver for 20 other products. This can get confusing. Must go to website for Silicon Image for updated drivers, but no link to this from Sabrent's web site.

Overall Review: PCI bus limits RAID O performance. Single drive hits 65MB (avg read)and RAID 0 peaks at 105MB (sustained avg read). This is far from doubling sequential read throughput. Once you install BIOS onto board the card is a good value for users of older systems.

COOLMAX ZP-1000B 1000W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI / Crossfire ready / 3 way 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC and Compatible with Core i3/i5/i7 Power Supply
COOLMAX ZP-1000B 1000W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI / Crossfire ready / 3 way 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC and Compatible with Core i3/i5/i7 Power Supply

Pros: It was not that expensive relative to higher quality brands. Yet performance underload lowers its value proposition.

Cons: When used with a 4.2 GHz Core i7 920 and 2 radeon 5870 in crossfire, the power waivers. This causes the pair of 5870 to under perform.

Overall Review: I would not dear use this for tri-fire 5870 even though the necessary 6 port cables are available. I received notice rebate info was received however, the rebate still has not been mailed out. I recommend going with another brand.

FaaaaaaaaaSTTTT!!!

ADATA S599 AS599S-128GM-C 2.5" 128GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
ADATA S599 AS599S-128GM-C 2.5" 128GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Achieves specified speed. Best Sata 2 SSD available. Great price for capacity.

Cons: None. Buy It!

Overall Review: This is my 2nd SSD. I owned a Crucial 128 SSD that had the Indilinx Controller. The writes on that SSD was limited to 190 MBs. This one achieves 270 MBs. A perfect investment :-)

The Best Period w/ Eyefinity

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5970 (Hemlock) 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity 100280-4GBB
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5970 (Hemlock) 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity 100280-4GBB

Pros: The 4GB (2GB per GPU) makes game play smooth. I have owned crossfire 5870, crossfire 5850, and crossfire 5970. They don't touch this single card in terms of constant frame rates with 4X AA or 8X AA with eyefinity 3 monitor gaming. Every current game runs butter smooth across 3 screens. This card is amazing.

Cons: Don't be a fool though Crysis Warhead with no AA on very high setting will average 21 fps and on high settings 30 fps on eyefinity. You cannot crossfire these cards and get an increase in frames per second with eyefinity. With a single monitor crossfiring 2 cards will work but then you don't need 2 GB frame buffer and can get a regular 5970.

Overall Review: My card overclocks to 1 GHz GPU and 5040 MHz (1260 x 4) on the RAM. The card stays cool even when over volted. The VDDC stay cool too because there are 4 as oppose to 3 on the regular 5970. More VDDC can split the voltage load and don't get as warm. The RAM comes pre over volted to 1.2 volts :-)

Great Overclocker

VisionTek 900297 Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity
VisionTek 900297 Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity

Pros: I can overclock card to 1 Ghz GPU and 4720 MHz RAM. I flashed cards to MSI bios to unlock it. I use MSI afterburner with 1.28 volts. Fan speed set to 100% just to ensure it stays cool.

Cons: The 5850 only has 3 VDDC voltage regulatros compared to 5870's 4 regulators. The VDDC are about 20 degrees hotter than on 5850 when overclocking at this speed.

Overall Review: I purchased mine on e-Ba... new for about $30 less than Newegg. However, NewEgg rocks and I recommend you buy from the Egg for unbeatable customer service! Single card Vantage score X9870 and P20779. Yes, these are higher than a GTX 480.

Great Reference Card

DIAMOND Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 5850PE51G
DIAMOND Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 5850PE51G

Pros: Flashed Bios with MSI 5850 bios. Overvolt to 3.1 volts and card runs stable at 985 MHz GPU and 4720 MHz RAM.

Cons: Could not get RAM to run stable at 4800 MHz which is the default speed that the 5870 RAM runs at.

Overall Review: Reference designed 5850 are hard to find on NewEgg. Many new cards have the fan in the center and I am not sure they have the adjustable voltage regulators on them.
