Great 7200 rpm upgrade drive

Pros: 500GB, 7200rpm, 5 Year Awarranty, Quiet, Very Well Packaged
Cons: Not really a con but only 16mb Cache- knew this when I purchased it. The 3.5" 500GB Black has 64MB cache.
Overall Review: Bought this to upgrade the stock hard drive in a Lenovo 3000N500 4233 Laptop, purchased back in Feb 2009 from Newegg. The stock drive was 160GB WD blue that had performed well over the years but was getting full and slow. The new 500GB drive is deffinently a major improvement over the 160GB drive. The drive I recieved is made in Malaysia with a manufacturedate of AUG 21 2013. System Specs: Lenovo 3000N500 4233 Laptop Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.0GHZ Memory 3gb pc2-5300 Windows Vista Buisness 32bit OS On a side note Newegg has finally learend to package their hard drives well. Mine was put inside a heavy duty multiple air cushion for hard drives. Alot better than just barely buble wrapped or wrapped in paper as they used to do. Aaron
Great High Performance HDD

Pros: Fast, large heatsink, 5 year warranty
Cons: a little noisy- for those that want quiet- noise doesn't bother me. price always seems a little high
Overall Review: I have had one of these in my htpc for about a year now- installed in Nov 2012. Got it on sale 11-23-12 for 79.99. Used it to replace a IDE 320GB WD blue that I bought in Nov 2009. Mainly replaced it for more space do to using the htpc as a dvr. As for compatibility do to it being a advanced format drive I have had no issues. have it installed on a ancient socket 478 pentium 4 system that is mostly ide except for 2 sata 1.5 conectors. Loved the fact that this drive does not require the jumpers to be used on a sata 1.5 system. System Specs: IBM M50 8187- Built in 2005! Pentium 4 2.8ghz Northwood 2GB PC2700 Memory 512MB Nvidia AGP graphics card Windows XP Pro SP3 One last thing, I always wonderd how one of thes would do and last removed from the heatsink adapter and put in a laptop. Probably wouldn't last long but it would be a fun ride. LOL Aaron
Great Hard Drive

Pros: 500GB, 64MB Cache, 5 year warranty, very well packaged, Quiet
Cons: Price a litle high to me, 74.99, at my time of purchase but worth it if it lasts in the long run.
Overall Review: Bought this to upgrade my new, well new to me, Lenovo M57 6075 Tower. It only came with a 80GB hard drive so that needed a upgrade. Was easy to clone my old HDD do to the 64MB cache. Only took 10 minutes to completely clone while just before I cloned a 160gb wd blue laptop drive to a new 500GB wd black laptop drive took 30 minutes. The drive I received was made in Thailand with a manufacture date of Sep 16 2013. System specs: Lenovo M57 6075 Pentium Dual Core E2160 1.8GHZ (soon to be replaced) 4GB PC2-6400 memory Windows 7 Pro 64bit OS On a side note Newegg has finally learned to package hard drives well. Mine arrived in a heavy duty multiple air cushion packaging. Much better than the previous methods of a little bubble wrap or papper. Aaron
Great Card Reader

Pros: Works well, Fairly easy to install, relatively cheap
Cons: USB cables still installed backwards on the 2 I just bought. Have to take card reader apart and flip one usb cable around. Has conflicts with some software when installing. See below. I think I got the last of these. Now will have to start looking for a replacement for future systems.
Overall Review: I have had one of these for 2 1/2 years and have had little issue except for two things. 1: Both usb cables are onlly 4 wire, most newer computers need at least one 5 wire, two grounds, or they turn off the usb header. Had this issue on IBM M50 and HP DC7600 models. So you eather have to jump the 2 pins on the header or you can take the card reader apart and flip one of the usb cables. As the cables have five pins where they plug into the card reader and passthru usb port. I usually just flip the one on the usb pass thru port to plug into the motherboard header. Do this and it should have no issues. I had one other issue when I tried to install it on a computer with Acronis TruImage home. If this program is installed the card reader will not install. You have to remove Acronis TrueImage Home from the computer. Install the card reader and drivers then reinstall Acronis True Image Home. I have 3 of these readers now. 2 in IBM M50's and 1 in a HP DC7600.
Can use subscription on older version!

Pros: Good for three pc's. I got it free on black friday. Subscription/ Serial# can be used to renew older versions of Trend Micro Internet Security.
Cons: Unknown, have heard that there is some issues with the titanium line over the old line.
Overall Review: I have used Trend Micro Internet security for over two years and it is the best Internet security software I have ever used. I got the Titanium Internet Security software on black friday. Didn't need it then but got it for the coming year as my subscription was good till feb 2011. I was also looking into the Titanium maxium version for some other computers, I have four total pc's. I started hearing some issues and lack of features with the new titanium versions over the older versions. But you can use the serial#/ subscription from the Titanium version to renew the older version. I used it to renew the 2009 version of Trend Micro Internet security. So if you have the older version of trend micro internet security you can use the new version subscription but keep the older software. So don't let the bad reviews of the Titanium version keep you from buying it. Just buy it and keep your older version. I will try the titanium software on a test computer to see if there are issues.
Great Ram for Old Systems

Pros: Works great. What more can you say about ram.
Cons: The plastic clam shell packaging they come in.
Overall Review: I have been using Kingston ram exclusively for my upgrades for the last two years and have never had any issues. Used this to upgrade a friends ancient system from a single 256mb stick. Really sped up the system. System specs: Shuttle socket A, AK32A, motherboard, AMD Athlon xp 1600, Seagate 60GB HDD, 64MB Nvidia AGP Graphics Card and running windows xp sp2.
