Pros: Gaming grade laptop. They put a lot of effort making this laptop powerful, and easy to use. I'm going to skip the regular stuff everyone else is talking about... -Laptop has great heat dissipation. The laptop itself does not get as hot as you think it would, running a 560, but it will heat up your room if you do not have good airflow. -The turbo button and fanspeed button come in handy. Its one press of a button to OC and increase fanspeed, which is nice to have JIC you think the vidcard might get too hot. -I stream sc2 gaming and fps gaming, while running other programs (chat, voice, youtube, music, etc.) with zero hiccups. -sound quality is great. I hate laptops that have weak speakers and have to jack up the volume 100% to hear anything. There are no issues like that with this laptop. -Price of the laptop was eggcellent with what it came with.
Cons: -If you put fan speed at 100%, it can get loud. -The laptop is thicker than most 15.6" laptops. Might want to get a case that supports bigger laptops than 15.6" to get it to fit. -charger gets hot and is huge (con maybe to some people) -bloatware, but not much (I h8 bloatware) -took longer than expected to get it to my door :( -no SSD, but then again it would be way more expensive.
Overall Review: This was a huge investment for me. I was pondering if I should rebuild my desktop, or buy a whole new machine. Since I LAN a lot, and host sc2 tournaments and am always lugging my pc around, I figured that a nice investment in a laptop that would last me at least 3-4 years and still be able to keep up with future tech, I decided on this laptop. I will probably switch to SSD in the future, but for now RAID HDD works really well.
Fits and works
Pros: Its made to fit 15.6" screen. Easy to apply and has a glossy on one side and matte on the other. Glossy had a much superior image than matte imo. The filter works as advertised. You have to be within like a 2 foot radius of the screen to see it from the side, but if you are in front of it, the picture is clear. I could see that someone sitting directly behind you can see your screen. You apply it to the screen by putting plastic strips and pieces to the side of your laptop monitor where the screen meets the border. One half of the strip has glue and you apply it to the border with the other half of the strip hanging over your screen to hold the privacy filter in place. Put 4-6 depending on what you like on your border, then slip the filter in. (I put some on the top border so that the filter wouldn't slip out on accident.) I do not notice the clear plastic on my laptop because my laptop is black, but if you were to have a light color i would assume it would stand out.
Cons: The plastic strips i assume will lose their stickiness and have to be replaced after some time. Its a 3M product so im sure i can get these at a department store or just make a homemade one. The filter tints the screen but this was assumed when i bought it. I actually find it easier on the eyes actually. There is also a little notch carved out in the shape of a semicircle on one side of the filter. I dont know what its for, but it looks like it was on purpose. Maybe it is to help u take the filter out? I dunno but its kinda whack.
Overall Review: I looked online and here on newegg and the prices are competitive. I chose newegg because its my fav and knew that it would be a good product and get good service. Worth the money if you want privacy.
Pros: Small, capacity, and speed. Works just like any other USB 2.0 drive, and has same speeds. Comes with a decent lanyard to fix to your key chain. Its the same size as a MicroSD to USB adapter that Kingston makes, just half the thickness.
Cons: So small you could lose it? It also fits in the USB slot both ways. Also had some trouble having other PC's recognize the drive... probably the PC's fault
Overall Review: Price was right, and why not go smaller, the other full size USB sticks are too big to fit on key chains, this one is barely noticeable, and the capacity is awesome. Other sticks are =/- $5 I would recommend this one for practicality.
Pros: Looks cool, has that copper edge to it to make it look nice sitting in the case. Stays cool, has no heat issues to date. Plays most of my games maxed, with the exception of Crysis.
Cons: No HDMI out.
Overall Review: HDMI out would have made this very appealing, since other cards with the same specs are selling at the same price now.
AsRock me Amedeus
Pros: Awesome price range, on board graphics is a plus, you can feel the quality of construction when u get it. AM3 capable. 1066 slots
Cons: None really, could use a better layout of board for cable management, but that is more because of my case really.
Overall Review: AsRock has the best prices IMO. Don't pay the big name premium.
