Great Monitor at a lower price

LG 29UM67-P 29" 2560 x 1080 (2K) 60 Hz DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Built-in Speakers IPS Monitor
LG 29UM67-P 29" 2560 x 1080 (2K) 60 Hz DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Built-in Speakers IPS Monitor

Pros: Nice, bright, stable, large area, high resolution. I had a setup of 4 1680x1050 monitors arranged 2x2. Was time to get replace at least 2 with 1920x1080 until I saw this. This is actually better then 2 separate monitors running 1920x1080 in that it's one contiguous 2560x1080 (adding 640 pixels to the horizontal axis). I still have the 2 upper 1680x1050s with this monitor as the main, lower screen. Works better than my other setup with is 2 1920x1080s side by side. With that setup, it's a lot of looking left to right and looking a lot farther for all windows open across the 2.

Cons: None yet technically but would never pay the current four hundred fifty price tag I see now. List 2 weeks ago was three fifty. I paid three hundred for it on a promotion. It's worth that certainly but not a lot more. Don't know what they're thinking with this large a jump in such a short time.

Most Critical Review

Fast CPU, Slow Memory Bus

AMD FX-8150 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.6 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8150FRGUBOX
AMD FX-8150 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.6 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8150FRGUBOX

Pros: CPU is fast, good benchmarks and easily overclocks to 3.9GHz with the supplied heatsink. With a better heat sink (like a Zalman) I would expect 4.1 - 4.4. Passmark CPU benchmarks make it a fantastic price point

Cons: The memory but is as bad as the CPU is good. I paired this with an ARock 990FX mobo and some fairly fast memory and the memory benchmarks show it to be moderate DDR2 speed instead of DDR3. I'm getting no more than 4 GB/s in any memory test. This is completely inconsistent with current technology. I expect at least 3x this. I've easily gotten 14-17 GB/s from the more modern Intel quad cores doing Hyper-Threading.

Overall Review: If you're using this in CPU intensive, multi-threaded apps, like calculating Pi to 100 digits, then this is a good choice. I wouldn't send the two I have back, since it's not too costly to populate the mobos that support this cpu with 32 GB RAM, the system can get pretty sluggish when lots of that ram is in use. Once upon a time, AMD did much better than Intel when it came to memory speed per dollar. Now, AMD is great at CPU cycles, but Intel smokes them.

Was "Seems to Work Fine" Now is "Don't buy"

TOPOWER TP-3155-500W 3U Rackmount Server Case w/ 500W Power Supply
TOPOWER TP-3155-500W 3U Rackmount Server Case w/ 500W Power Supply

Pros: Was "Great price on a Rack Case with PS. Server is seldom used so I can't speak about longevity yet, but it's been good for my purposes" Now is "PS failed after less than 100 hours of runtime"

Cons: Was" None that I know of yet." Now is "I know not to buy this again. I had this for 1.5 years but the system in the case was only used a few hours every few months. The PS failed with no warning. I cannot find a replacement PS that will fit into this case, making it useless.

Overall Review: Buy something with a normal sized power supply.

Took a while to Get here - but works fine

Chelsio T520-CR Dual-Port 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe 3.0 x8 Unified Wire Adapter
Chelsio T520-CR Dual-Port 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe 3.0 x8 Unified Wire Adapter

Pros: It's the card that was advertised. Is this actually a Pro? It shouldn't be.

Cons: Took longer to arrive than something sold by NewEgg. They really do need to speed up their fulfillment process.

Changed Design - Now FANS DON'T SPIN UP

NORCO RPC-4220 4U Rackmount Server Chassis w/ 20 Hot-Swappable SATA/SAS 6G Drive Bays (Mini SAS Connector)
NORCO RPC-4220 4U Rackmount Server Chassis w/ 20 Hot-Swappable SATA/SAS 6G Drive Bays (Mini SAS Connector)

Pros: Bought one 4 years ago, worked w/o problems. Power supply failure took out disk connections...So I bought the SAME CASE as a replacement (same model number, but it turns out it's not the same case, exactly)

Cons: Old version had 4 80-90mm FANs just behind the disks. New one has 3 120m fans just behind the disk. At power on, at most only 1 of the 3 FANS start, and not the same one each time. Often, none of the fans start. Test were done w/o disks in the case with a 1000w Power Supply. If you "nudge" the fan blades manually when power is on, all fans run fine. To move forward, I had to swap the fan panel out from the old case. NORCO needs to send me 3 new 120mm fans that start when power is applied. I should not have to return the whole case and I should not have to run 4 year old fans in my new case or this is the last thing I buy from NORCO

No Dice

LSI LSI00144 PCI Express SATA / SAS MegaRAID SAS 8704ELP
LSI LSI00144 PCI Express SATA / SAS MegaRAID SAS 8704ELP

Pros: Vendor did sent the correct card the first time. Vendor was responsive by phone and email. Vendor paid for 2 RMA shipments to them due to bad/wrong cards being sent out. Vendor says they'll refund my money (not verified yet).

Cons: First card I got was correct, but it failed to post, meaning the card had never been put into a mobo and tested before being sent out. The 2nd card sent wasn't even the correct brand and clearly had QLOGIC written across it, rather than LSI. So I ended up getting a dual ported HBA (2 RJ45 ports). This clearly indicates there is zero quality control at this company.

Overall Review: Yes, I took a risk ordering a used part and it didn't work out, but $25 isn't much of a gamble. I recommend buying from this vendor and buying this type of wares only when you can afford several weeks of delay and it's low risk to your business if it doesn't work out. Even though the vendor failed to deliver a working card, they tried and handled themselves professionally. I'll look them up again when I need to.
