Dependable, solid mouse

Logitech SBF-96 Black 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical Mouse
Logitech SBF-96 Black 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical Mouse

Pros: The optical sensor works on my wood finish desk without skipping like my old optical mouse. Scroll button is nice and responsive. It is comfortable to hold and use. the cord is nice and long.

Cons: Black color looks nice, but shows smears and fingerprints easily.

Most Critical Review

I'd go with the next step up if I were you

Airnet AWN154 Wireless CardBus Adapter
Airnet AWN154 Wireless CardBus Adapter

Comments: This card worked for two days without problem. Then my screen went black and I couldn't figure out what went wrong. I hit the reset button and the laptop won't boot. After trying a couple more times I take the wireless card out and it boots up almost immediately. Every time I try to put it back in the computer freezes. Airnet doesn't have a web site or any tech support that I can find. The documentation that comes with it also has no troubleshooting info.

Near Perfect Flash Drive

Patriot 4GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) PSF4GMUSB(Blue)
Patriot 4GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) PSF4GMUSB(Blue)

Pros: Smaller than I thought it would be, which is great. Rubbery outside has a nice grip and feel. It also protects the drive well. I wouldn't be afraid to drop it. The cap fits snuggly and I don't think I'll lose it. It's small enough to be on a keychain. Great price for 4 GB of storage. The drive looks great.

Cons: Seems a little slower than other drives I've had. Especially for transferring groups of small files in different folders. Probably not the best drive for ReadyBoost. But for everyday use it should be plenty fast. I will note that is performs well on Ubuntu Linux. It's a slower on Vista. I haven't tested it on XP yet. It would have been nice to a have a chain of some sort included.

Overall Review: Has a red LED that flashes when it's working. It's blue! My favorite color. It's dimensions (with cap on) are 1.625" L x 5/8" W x 3/8" H. The height is measured at the widest part, which is at the raised letters ("Patriot" on one side, "x-mini" on the other).

Solid Keyboard

Logitech Internet 350 Black 104 Normal Keys 8 Function Keys USB Wired Standard Keyboard
Logitech Internet 350 Black 104 Normal Keys 8 Function Keys USB Wired Standard Keyboard

Pros: Solid construction, media keys, nice look, Logitech name, responsive and quiet keys This is a great keyboard. The media keys are nice and convenient. They worked without any setup on Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux (v6.10). The keys have the right amount of spring that I like. They are fairly quiet. Just a little louder than my laptop keys. The flat black with glossy black trim is easy on the eyes and matches my Logitech mouse. The keyboard also has a diamond symbol on the ctrl key and a diamond symbol followed by the shortcut function on the z,x,c,v,b,s,f, and p keys (undo, cut, paste, save, find, etc). That is nice if you have older parents or if you just can't remember shortcut keys.

Cons: None

Great Monitor

ViewSonic 19" WXGA+ LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub Optiquest Series Q19WB-2
ViewSonic 19" WXGA+ LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub Optiquest Series Q19WB-2

Pros: This monitor has great picture quality and a very reasonable price. I had no dead pixels and it is very easy to set up. The built in speakers are decent, what you'd expect from small integrated speakers. The screen tilts nicely. It doesn't swivel, but you can easily turn the stand.

Cons: No DVI, but it still looks outstanding using VGA.

Overall Review: Newegg service was speedy as always.
