Most Favorable Review

It has two bays for 3.5 HD in front of power supply

Rosewill ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case, Supports up to 420mm Long Graphics Card, Comes with Three Fans Pre-installed - Front 120mm Fan x 2, Rear 120mm Fan x 1 - GUNGNIR X

Pros: I haven't bought new cases since early 2000s. Dust filters, cables running behind motherboard, USB3 ports, enormous room for long GPUs all look amazing. I knew this case had 3 bays for SSD behind motherboard, which is really neat, but was a little worried that 3.5 drive might require installation of a cage that will limit GPU length. 3.5 bays aren't shown in pictures. Actually they are in front of power supply compartment, level with it. I have a non-modular power supply, that filled my old case like a giant octopus. In this case all the unnecessary cables are locked in power supply compartment and few necessary ones surface from under back panel right next to the headers they are attached to. SATA power cables don't show up in the main compartment at all and SATA data cables dive behind the back panel right away. The case look empty, which means unobstructed air flow and plenty of room for long GPUs I plan to use for my deep learning experiments.

Cons: Plastic front cover, plastic window. I prefer rugged design, but it is mainly a matter of taste. I don't expect any kicks at my computer at home. The case is pretty tall. It fits in my desk, but USB ports are only usable with flexible cables when I pull keyboard drawer out. Wish those ports faced forward.

Nie spacious SSD for a laptop.

MyDigitalSSD SBX Single Sided 80mm (2280) M.2 PCI Express 3.0 x2 (PCIe Gen3 x2) NVMe SSD (1TB)

Pros: Cheap stays cool It works Low power consumption Spacious enough for dual boot machine Takes only 2 PCIe lanes, so I suppose two might work in a laptop.

Cons: One egg review

Overall Review: Tests show it about 3 times faster than SATA SSD. I don't see a speedup in real life. Windows boot time is 6-10 sec with either drive. I suppose most of this time is bios waiting if I want to press F12 to enter it. It still might show its speed in storage intensive tasks such as genome alignment of RNASeq data. Sure 4x PCIe drives might be faster, but at a cost of high power consumption and heat - both sensitive matters for a laptop. Concerning the one egg review - it is not an issue if you have two M.2 slots, like in my laptop, or have an access to a desktop computer with M2 slot. Hope people appreciate this nice little drive over time.

Mind blowing

[Perfect Pixel]QNIX UHD3216R REAL 4K 32" LED 3840X2160 AMD FreeSync IPS Computer Monitor

Pros: Huge, even compared to 27" I've been using for years. Often find myself moving a window on the screen closer to me, like a real document on a real desktop. Amazing resolution. 10 bit per channel color, so it must be good for photo editing and content creation. About half the price of the nearest competitor

Cons: Menus are in Korean - use your smartphone to translate :) Shipped from Korea, so minor hassle and $20 fees at the customs - keep an eye on package tracking info while it ships. Built in speakers sound tinny, but who needs them?

Overall Review: I think everyone should have one. You will forget about buying the second monitor, neither will you have space on your desk to put two of them side by side. :)

Serious mobile workstation

GIGABYTE P Series - 15.6" GeForce GTX 1070 - Intel Core i7-6700HQ - 16GB Memory - 512 GB SSD - Windows 10 Home 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop - IPS (P35Xv6-PC4D )
GIGABYTE P Series - 15.6" GeForce GTX 1070 - Intel Core i7-6700HQ - 16GB Memory - 512 GB SSD - Windows 10 Home 64-Bit - Gaming Laptop - IPS (P35Xv6-PC4D )

Pros: GTX 1070 - I don't game, but in computational benchmarks it is 5 times as fast as laptop processor and 3 times as fast as my desktop. It is not an ultrabook, but it is amazingly thin and light for what it is Sturdy metal body. Feels like a professional machine. No dragons, aliens or red buttons screaming "gamer"! Long battery life - really hard to find in gaming laptops. Very quiet when not under heavy load and in energy saving mode. Backlit keybord comes handy at night. It is a complete package there is really nothing to upgrade.

Cons: GTX 1070 requires a lot of power, so power cord is thick and relatively inflexible and the power plug keeps falling off the laptop. With long battery life you don't notice it right away. It might wear battery out. Tin sounding speakers. I guess that is why they added earphones with it. Not really a problem as you can use bluetooth speakers. Windows 10 looks flat, but it is not laptop's fault and probably requires time to get used to.

Overall Review: Bought it for deep learning exercises. GTX 1070 greatly speeds those up. There is a world of a difference between an hour and 12 minutes when you experiment with training neural networks. 3D rendering might greatly benefit too. Long battery life is handy when doing my writing in a bookshop cafe away from a power socket. It is lighter than my previous laptop and much lighter than those 10lb gaming monsters that provide even more computational muscle. Other reviewers complain about DVD drive opening a lot while working with laptop on your lap - never happened to me. But keep an eye on the power cord. It does fall off its laptop socket.

You know why this thing is silent? It handles normal load in passive mode!

ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP
ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP

Pros: Works with Skylake, Light. Quiet. Cools well. Easy installation. Comes with one of the best thermal compounds in the market preapplied.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Many people report idle CPU temps in 30-40C range. You know why? This thing doesn't bother to turn on fan at these CPU temperatures and handles them as a passive cooler. I even thought mine was broken. Part of the credit goes to Intel of course for all the energy saving features in their newer processors. May be I was so much behind the technology coming from Athlon 4x to Skylake. I did some research on thermal compounds, chose one, even added it to the basket, and then found out that this cooler comes with exactly the same compound preapplied.

Works OK with 4 memory sticks.

Pros: Nice board. DDR4. Works with all 4 memory slots populated. Booted Ubintu and Suse Linux no problem.

Cons: None for its class/price.

Overall Review: Previous review mentioned that it won't boot with 4 memory sticks. I was seriously concerned. But mine works fine with 4 memory sticks 32GB. May be it helps that have quad channel kit, or may be I've got a later bios version. O the previous guy just was unlucky.

Just don't hold your breath. It shipped from China.

It was shipped from China and I suspect by the sea, so it disappeared from tracking for a while. Then it was taking its sweet time touring the US in the most bizarre way. I've got annoyed by my old mouse that skipped clicks and insisted on pressing the very rim of the key. I wanted to quickly fix the problem by buying new one. It wasn't too quick, but the problem wasn't urgent either. The mouse itself is awe inspiring. Phrase "military grade" somehow appeared in my mind when I moved it for the first time. It is much bigger and heavier than I expected, nothing like all those flimsy tiny office varieties. Feels more like a decent sized hand grenade. It is very precise and somehow leaves no doubt that all my clicks will be accounted for. Perhaps that is what is called "game mouse".

Gorgeous case stright from my dreams.

Top notch service. Cutest case ever with plenty of room for full size CPU cooler. It is a challenge to assemble everything in such tight volume, but the result looks gorgeous. I thought to design my own custom case for compact computer and considered the same arrangement with power supply in front instead of drive bays, then found that Raijintek implemented the thing in metal already. Couldn't be more pleased. I might take this thing to work every now and then when I need an 8 core workstation power there and it will easily fit an a small backpack.
