1080p Capable Gaming

XFX Radeon RS RX 480 DirectX 12 RX-480P836BM 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card
XFX Radeon RS RX 480 DirectX 12 RX-480P836BM 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: I upgraded from a 7870 and it is a huge difference in both quality and performance. This card is far more powerful and consumes less power.

Cons: I experienced artifacts accompanied by a bsod last night while watching a television show. I also experienced a red screen followed by a crash while I was trying to benchmark Batman Arkham Knight. Drivers seemed to be more stable on my 7870, but have experienced no crashing while gaming. However, the blue screen seemed to have been related to windows rather than the rx 480 and Batman is known for being poorly optimized. I just find it odd that I have only experienced this while using the rx 480. During the Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark I could heard coil whine.

Overall Review: BENCHMARKS: To get the best possible score for pure 1080p gaming frame rate target control, v-sync, and any form of anti-aliasing were disabled. Other than that all graphics were set to maximum settings. Time Spy and Firestrike settings were not tampered with and were ran at default. Time Spy graphics score - 4021 Firestrike graphics score - 12789 Steam V.R. Test - 9503 very high Dragon Age Inquisition - 61 avg fps Shadow of Mordor - 78 avg fps Rise of the Tomb Raider - 58 avg fps Batman Arkham Knight - 80 avg fps As far as the temperature of the gpu goes the highest I saw it go was during the Time Spy benchmark it got up to 71 C. I have a well ventilated case and my cpu is water cooled. This test was ran with my air conditioner off while it was 22 C outside. Test Rig: cpu - 8350 gpu - rx 480 motherboard - Gigabyte 990 FX ram - 16 gigs @ 1866

On board sound issue

ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Does what I need it to except for one issue.

Cons: Just like every other motherboard I have ever owned the built in sound card seems to have died. However, this one died after six months. I usually have the built in sound cards last several years.

Overall Review: I'm not at all surprised given my experience with motherboards with sound cards built in, they ALWAYS die. They lost 2 eggs because of how quickly it died. Very first time purchasing ASUS, Gigabyte's built in sound card lasted me 5 years. A generic HP motherboard I have lasted 3 years. For this being my first purchase with ASUS and having you guys not out last a generic HP motherboard sound card is gravely disappointing.

Pros: -Reasonably priced

Cons: -3rd party overclocking software sets voltage to 1.45 BEWARE!

Overall Review: Below you will find benchmarks ran at MAX settings at 1080p. The 6900XT is set to Rage mode with Smart Memory Access enabled. Any title capable of performing ray tracing, HDR and/or any and all forms of AA (FXAA, MSAA, SMAA, SSAA & TAA) will be set to maximum. Any title with chromatic aberration, motion blur, object blur, lens distortion or film grain will be DISABLED, if possible. Why? Because we want maximum graphics clarity and fidelity. Titles that are absurdly impacted by Physx or any other proprietary Nvidia software will also be disabled, if possible. 3DMark Time Spy Extreme 8555 Time Spy 18075 Fire Strike Ultra 14320 Fire Strike Extreme 25914 Fire Strike 39485 Port Royale 10500 Wild Life 112974 Wild Life Extreme 41512 Night Raid 64456 CPU Profile 916 - 7411 DX Ray Tracing 28.34 PCI Express 22.67 VRS 1 1224.24 VRS 2 134.26/238.74 Mesh Shader 38.63/599.53 3DMark 11: Extreme 21075 AC Odyssey 77 AC Origins 75/9520 Batman AC 391 Batman Origins 616 Batman AK 184 Bioshock Infinite 325 - average Deus Ex MD 59 - (Ran at 8X, lowering MSAA to 2X drastically increases performance) Dragon Age Inquisition 194 Encore 46895 - total frames rendered Far Cry 5 181/7853 Far Cry ND 188 Far Cry Primal 136 Final Fantasy 15 11931 - total frames rendered For Honor 121 Gears 5 156 Gears of War Ultimate Edition 234 1 loop Geekbench 3: 32 bit 5957 40103 64 bit 6327 42503 Hitman 121 Hitman Absolution 120 Lost Planet A1 263 A2 967 Metro Exodus Enhanced 67 Passmark 10.1 8869.6 PCMark 10: Express 6060 Performance 8140 Extended 11502 Shadow of Mordor 311 Shadow of War 206 Steam VR: 11 Very High Frames tested 2700 Below 90 0 CPU bound 0 Rage (Transcode) 537 Resident Evil 5 Variable 471 Resident Evil 6 29579 - total frames rendered Rise of the Tomb Raider 141 Shadow of the Tomb Raider 94 Sleeping Dogs 165 - May have locked to monitor refresh rate even though disabled Strange Brigade 378 The Division 2 179 Thief 153 Tomb Raider 213 Unigine: Superposition 8k 6188 Superposition 4k Optimized 16389 Superposition 1080p Extreme 11770 Valley 192.3 - Extreme HD Heaven 237.6 - All tessellation normal range except distance which is maximized Sanctuary 851.7 Tropics 451.8 User Benchmark: UFO Gaming 195% Desktop 104% Workstation 195% World War Z 166 - May have locked to monitor refresh rate even though disabled Components used: 5800X - Precision Boost Overdrive enabled Cooler Master MasterAir MA620M MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI DDR4 (2x8) @3600 16-18-18-36 PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT CORSAIR RMx Series RM1000X 1000W 80 PLUS GOLD Conclusion: Perfect cpu for gaming. Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

Pros: Black and green, matches the rest of my computer! The build quality is perfect from the layout of the buttons to how your hand matches the design to the cord that is very thick. Everything about this mouse says quality.
