Silence Nooblets!!!
Pros: See other thoughts
Cons: See other thoughts
Overall Review: Disregard the garbage about "not able to overclock". If you go into the cell menu in bios and change the FSB:DRAM ration, voltage and latency settings you will successfully post and load your OS with your RAM @ 1600MHz. I know this because that is exactly what I did last night. If you've never overclocked before then please visit a forum. Find the correct latency timings and voltage for your RAM, set it manually in the BIOS. Also set to 2T timing and DRAM timing mode to "both"
Ok, but flawed
Pros: Cools ok, better than intel's original but not what I'd recommend for overclocking or systems in rooms with high ambient temps. Spend another $5-10 and get something that performs better and mounts more firmly without having to worry about breaking cheap plastic.
Cons: Plastic push pins have some issues. They don't seem to like having all four pins firmly in place. If you don't have patience, don't buy this one. 3 out of 4 go in easy, the last one will be stubborn. The terribly designed push-pin mounts are easy to break. I was lucky to get almost 3 years out of mine. For the price you're paying this should be more durable and have better performance. Idle temps were around 35 with arctic silver 5 in a well designed and well ventilated case (5 x 120m m fans)
Overall Review: After this piece of sheet broke I used the intel original I had sitting in the closet which ran only about 3 degrees hotter. I upgraded to a CNPS 9500 AT a week later and wow... what a difference. Temps were never higher than 30 at stock voltage/clocks. Managed to hit 4GHz with a C2D E6850. Was lucky to hit 3.6 with the AC Freezer and the temps were 45 @ idle. I sold the cpu and cnps on craigslist and the temps were 19c in the system.
Update
Pros: Runs cold, runs fast.
Cons: Was only showing 6 cores after initial install.
Overall Review: I noticed a few days after the upgrade that only 6 cores were showing. But that was because the previous cpu was a 6 core. After going to msconfig/boot/advanced options and unchecking the number of processors and rebooting it showed the option for 8 cores. Simple fix for those of you whining about not having all 8 cores.
Slightly let down, but still ecstatic
Pros: Does what I need it to do with power to spare.
Cons: It's not what I was expecting from a "modular" PSU. My last PSU was from OC* and I liked it but it only had 500 watts to give and I needed more after this upgrade. This thing was not what I expected at all. There are a few short, stubby cords hanging out of it that you connect the cables to rather than sockets on the rear of the unit like my last one. A bit ugly but I break stuff for a living so being pretty isn't a very important factor for me.
Overall Review: A few more molex connectors would be nice and maybe some 3/4 pin fan plugs as well.
Nice!!!
Pros: All I can say is amazing!!! But then again I'm stepping up from a 5670 card...
Cons: It doesn't make me coffee in the morning.
Overall Review: Came with a DVI to HDMI adapter for my TV. Love it.
Had a few speedbumps, but love it!
Pros: Dead silent! Looks great. Plenty of room and great ventilation.
Cons: User manual served no purpose other than extra paper to wipe my brown eye with. You have to use common sense when assembling this one. But still an awesome case.
Overall Review: Came with cable ties. That shocked the hell out of me. Never had a case come with those.
