Pros: Smooth scrolling and programmable buttons. Cheap. Rainbow lights = covert LGBT representation (I use it at work).
Overall Review: For the price, it's a great product.
Pros: Solid. Takes everything I throw at it and stays online like a champ. Can't beat the price. Buffalo's version of DD-WRT firmware is pretty robust. Haven't upgraded to the real deal yet because I don't feel the need. Coverage throughout my house. Firmware makes it easy to lock down so my neighbors can't leech off it. Supports WPA2.
Cons: It doesn't clean my bathroom.
Overall Review: If you're looking for a cheap, solid 802.11n router, you can't go wrong with this thing. Buffalo has a quality product here. I was hesitant at first because I've always stuck with Linksys and Netgear in the past. All the good reviews here convinced me to take a chance and I'm glad I did.
Pros: I bought this for my sister to replace the burner that bit the dust on her aging Dell. It's quiet and fast. What more can you ask for? I've never had any problems with Lite-On drives and I've owned quite a few. They make good stuff.
Cons: It wasn't free.
Overall Review: Once again Newegg comes through with fast shipping. Thanks!
Pros: I bought this when the old 250 GB drive in my XBox 360 crashed. I flashed it with the 360 firmware and it runs great. And since the old drive was a 5400 RPM, I've noticed a bit of a reduction in load times as well. And all for about 40% of the price that Microsoft wants for their "official" retail 360 hard drive. If you're willing to do a bit of work flashing the firmware and moving the files over from your old drive (if applicable), you can save a lot of money.
Cons: It doesn't make me any better at first person shooters.
Overall Review: Newegg comes through again with great prices and fast shipping.
Pros: Huge screen, HDMI output, awesome response time. NO DEAD PIXELS! My games look amazing on this thing. I upgraded from a 19" screen and this is like night and day. I got this on sale for 300, but would gladly pay the 330 they're asking right now.
Cons: It doesn't clean my bathroom or cook me breakfast.
Kind of heavy for an LCD. Glad I got free shipping. Be careful what you set it on. A flimsy monitor stand might have some problems.
Overall Review: If you're thinking about buying this monitor, stop thinking and just buy it already.
Pros: I put this in an external enclosure to use for backup purposes. The read and write speed is very good so far and it will be more than adequate for my backup needs.
Pros: Sweet brushed aluminum finish. Plenty of room for the drive inside. Setup was a snap. Four screws to secure the drive inside and two to keep the lid on. Takes up very little room on my desk when used vertically with the included stand.
Cons: Power cord has large brick on the outlet end. Most power strips these days account for these, though, so it's a minor gripe. Included power and USB cables are a bit short.
Overall Review: I installed a 500 GB Seagate drive in here. I had trouble getting the drive to format at first, but it turns out the culprit was the the third party USB cable I purchased. I hooked it up with teh included one and everything worked fine.
Pros: It's longer than the one that came with my external hard drive, which is why I bought it. It does what a USB cable is supposed to, namely transfer data.
Overall Review: Don't get ripped off buying expensive cables in retail stores when you can get the same thing from Newegg dirt cheap.
Pros: I had 1 GB of memory in my aging system and ordered one of these to double it. The difference was like night and day. I recommend this to everyone that only has 1GB.
Cons: None whatsoever.
Overall Review: Newegg got this to me FAST as usual.
Pros: Lots of plus that are spaced apart for large brick adapters. It's currently powering my entire home theater setup; 50" DLP TV, subwoofer, receiver, digital cable box, DVD player, CD player, and XBox 360 with no problems.
Cons: None, it works like it's supposed to.
Overall Review: Tripp-Lite name means quality. Fast shipping from Newegg as usual
Pros: This case is light and roomy. Plenty of space inside for all my hardware. Nice black aluminum finish is understated, yet classy. Thumb screws are a nice touch.
Overall Review: I've had this case for a long time now and I've never once regretted it. This thing is light, sturdy, and dependable. Everything a good case should be. The instructions were a little thin, but if you have any experience building a system, it's not a big deal.
Pros: Top notch graphics and a killer soundtrack. Enough new elements added to change things up but enough old stuff retained to keep it real.
Cons: The campaign was okay, but seemed a bit short to me. I was disappointed by the ending, but I haven't yet beat the game on Legendary, which apparently gives the "full" ending. Hopefully that's better than the one I got, which left a lot of questions unanswered.
Overall Review: Fast shipping by Newegg as usual. Thanks!
Pros: Graphics are awesome, even on a non-HD TV. Nice and smooth. Sound is top notch also.
Cons: I experienced the same thing that another reviewer mentioned where the computer will just decide it wants to win and it doesn't matter what nifty moves you pull off. This happened in DOA3 also, but with MUCH less frequency. It seems to happen a lot in DOA4. It gets annoying at times, especially since I'm trying to unlock all the characters.
Pros: Plays all the original XBox games I own. HDMI connection is a plus. Graphics and sound are all top notch. No problems so far.
Cons: It's not free.
Overall Review: Newegg got this to me super fast. Thanks again.
Pros: Great upgrade for a great price. I had 1GB of RAM in my laptop and installed this to double my RAM. Quick to install and no problems.
Cons: The price has come down since I bought it. C'est la vie.
Overall Review: If you're looking to upgrade performance on the cheap, this is an awesome way to do it.
Pros: Installed and running with no problems whatsoever. Cracked the case open, installed the hardware and back up and running all in less than 5 minutes. Doubled my RAM for a good price.
Overall Review: You can't go wrong with Crucial.
Pros: Rock solid wireless connection. Easily flashed with third-party firmware, unlike it's cheaper cousin the WRT54G. Great range and reliability.
Overall Review: The included Linksys firmware is adequate, but this wireless router really shines when loaded with one of the many good third-party firmwares out there. These will turn a good wireless router into a very cost-effective piece of equipment with added functionality.
Pros: Installed without a hitch. I've got two of these currently. I originally only had one and when I put the second one in it was like night and day. I'm looking at getting the 1GB version of this soon to fill my last memory slot and try and get some more use out of an aging machine.
Cons: None. Kingston makes a quality product.
Pros: Very minimalist black anodized aluminum look. Nothing flashy, which is what I was going for. Plenty of room inside for all your hardware. I like that the side panels and expansion slots all have thumbscrews. Big points there. The removable motherboard tray is a nice touch as well, making it a breeze to swap out or replace hardware.
Cons: The headers for the front USB ports don't seem to like my motherboard.
Overall Review: This is a top notch case and I would recommend it to any system builder who doesn't want to be too flashy. If you are concerned about noise, you may want to replace the stock case fans.
Pros: I was given a 3G iPod when my sister got one of the new 5G video ones. Unfortunately, the USB cable she game me with it was only good for transferring files and would not charge the iPod. i did some digging and found out that the 3G iPod works best with FireWire and picked up one of these babies. I've had no problems since.
Cons: None. It does what it's supposed to.
Overall Review: People need to read the product specs before they order. Newegg makes it pretty clear which cables and accessories are compatible with which iPod. If you take a few seconds to make sure you're ordering the right one, you're golden.
Pros: Worked great right out of the box, even better after some tweaking. Setup was quick and painless and it's been rock solid ever since.
Cons: Linksys firmware is strictly vanilla.
Overall Review: This router works just fine right out of the box, but if you want to take it to the next level and get way more customizability, I highly recommend the DD-WRT firmware. Getting everything customized and locked down with this firmware was a breeze.
Pros: Compact, fast, and cheap.
Overall Review: I purchased this to go with my new digital camera that chews through batteries somewhat quickly so that I could pop the memory card out and use it to look at pictures without drainiing battery juice. It comes with a nice 3' USB cable and Windows XP picked it up as soon as I plugged it in. I was ready to rock and roll in less than 30 seconds. Awesome! And props to Newegg for the super fast shipping.
