Great RAM

CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX
CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX

Pros: I Put the RAM in and the BIOS posts so I'm happy! Ok joking aside I've had 4gb of this exact RAM in my desktop for quite sometime. I finally got unlazy and upgraded to 8gb total for the ridiculously low price NewEgg sells this for. Up came W7 64 and I was photoshoping and playing TF2 within 5 minutes of installing. Honestly it's refreshing to get hardware, put it in place, and have it work so flawlessly.

Cons: None yet

Overall Review: 8gb is better than 4gb.

Wow... Terrible

EDIMAX EW-7722UTn N300 USB 2.0 Mini-size Wireless Adapter
EDIMAX EW-7722UTn N300 USB 2.0 Mini-size Wireless Adapter

Pros: Absolutely none, zero, zilch

Cons: So first off I get this thing out of the box and plug it in. No driver directory on the included CDROM so I have to install their obvious after-thought utility that a 5th grade computer science student could do better developing for a week 2 project. After messing around for an hour I discover if you enter the 'utility' directory and manually run the setup you magically get the option to install 'driver only' without their woeful excuse for a connection utility. Ok 1 hour down, but all good right? Wrong. No internet connection now even though the card is supposedly installed correctly. I get a certificate error. Wait, I'm an IT guy for a living, but I know I didn't enable EAP smart card. Yes, but oh joy the cheap excuse for a USB wireless adapter did that for me. Ok I find the config for smart card and sigh as I uncheck it and hit ok. Connect right? No. Ok let's reboot. I reboot and Windows comes back up and tells me now tells me no wireless networks found. Guess what?

Overall Review: Need I say more? 8 bucks to purchase but an entire night of my time is worth 10 times that amount.

Great drive

Western Digital WD RE4 WD5003ABYX 500GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD RE4 WD5003ABYX 500GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Put the drive in, immediately recognized by bios, installed W7, and working great so far. Runs cooler and faster than my larger TB+ drives so as long as it lasts, its the perfect drive at the 500GB size. Seems like a win/win to me.

Cons: None yet.

Overall Review: Overall this drive has positive reviews but any hard disk out there has potential to arrive DOA or become a brick shortly after install. This is one of the reasons some people are reverting down to the sub terabyte drives again. So far this drive arrived in good shape and is running great.

Good Stuff

Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 Laptop Memory Model KVR1066D3SOK2/8GR
Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 Laptop Memory Model KVR1066D3SOK2/8GR

Pros: Old memory out, new memory in, Windows boots up. Pretty much what I hoped for. Progies are more snappy with my Windows 7 Sony VAIO (VPCEA Series). No errors, BSOD, and full 8gb detected fine.

Cons: I actually thought the package was a letter or catalog but to my surprise the memory was in a padded envelope. Nothing was damaged but again I was pretty shocked memory was shipped like that.
