Good, quiet HTPC card

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6450 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card ( 100322L)
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6450 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card ( 100322L)

Pros: Quiet card that can handle all my HTPC needs. Does not require additional power or a high wattage power supply. This card does not cost much so it is great for making a older system into a good HTPC system. Stays pretty cool for a fan-less card.

Cons: No cons really for what this was purchased for.

Overall Review: This is not a card for gaming although it can play some games at low settings. I knew this going in and I purchased this for my HTPC. I pushed this card through 3dmark11 and furmark to see what would happen. While this card is not meant to score well in those benchmarks it let me know this card would be a good card. It never got too hot and it made it through! That was all I wanted. As long as your expectations are realistic with this card and its limitations, it is a very good value.

Might be nice if I got to use it

GIGABYTE - 14.0" - Intel Core i7 4th Gen 4700HQ (2.40GHz) - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760M - 8 GB DDR3 - 1TB HDD 128 GB SSD - Windows 8 - Gaming Laptop (P34G-CF1 )

Pros: Looks nice and is light and powerful.

Cons: Horrible quality control. The keyboard tray was loose. it overheated to the point of throttling ~100c and now it randomly powers off. Horrible support. An RMA takes a month and I am on my second. Little to no communication, even when they claimed the would expedite the second RMA.

Overall Review: If you get one that works it is a great system. If you don't the support has been the single worse experience that I have ever had. Little to no communication, they are not willing to help with an obvious lemon of a laptop that I got. Wont cross ship. Month long RMA process.

Perfect for HTPC

Western Digital WD Green WD20EARX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD Green WD20EARX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Quiet Low Power Good Size

Cons: None really as I purchased this for an HTPC. If I wanted better speed at this size I would have went with the WD Blacks.

Overall Review: I have had several of the Green series for my home servers and test servers as well as my HTPC. I have also had plenty of other brands. So far over the last 4 or so years I have had far fewer issues with these drives than any others. I had one that failed and it was as much because of an AC outage in a very hot closet as anything.

Nice looking. quiet fans, pain after that

SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum / Steel Lascala Series SST-LC10B-E-USB3.0 ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum / Steel Lascala Series SST-LC10B-E-USB3.0 ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Clean, elegant look Lots of space for drive Quiet fans Good placement of fan mounts for the future. Lots of room USB 3

Cons: I don't think I have ever had to use so many screws in my life. Just to get one of the hard drive cages out it is 6 screw. There is no rail system or anything for the drives to make it easier. Despite being a big case it is very tight inside. The HD cages and Optical drive cage over cage deeper mother boards to a point you can't access the power and SATA ports. The DVD/BT slot has no real guides so you have to do a lot of trial and error to get it in place to work with the front.

Overall Review: Overall I do like this case, but can't justify better than an average score because while it is a beauty on the outside it is a beast inside to work with. Once I got everything hooked up I realized I needed to do a simple task of moving a SATA connection due to a RAID setup. Just to do that I had to take out a drive cage that took 6 screws and then there was barely room to get it out without damaging components. Again I am overall happy with this case and have no plans to replace it. It is a good case if you are looking for something that looks great and you do not plan on working with it a lot. Just be aware it is not the type of system that everything slides into place and you are done.

Cheap but works
