Rock Solid - 5 years and counting

Pros: Bought this in 2012, been rock solid for 5 years on a [email protected]
Cons: not gold plated or free
Overall Review: will buy a bigger version for next build and retire this one.
not happy

Pros: no eye searing blue lights, easy interface
Cons: i bought this to replace a 3 year old DIR-655 hoping to get better HD streaming and better overall wireless performance by using 5GHZ to avoid overlapping with my neighbors. I got neither one. wifi takes forever to connect, has less range and still drops out more than my old 655 even using the exact same channels. latest firmware, still no change. This was my third D-Link router, might be the last.
nice idea, bad execution

Pros: pretty, no eye searing lights
Cons: Streamboost is a bad joke - It does not know the difference between a Samsung streaming player, a webcam, a laptop and an android device. Device aware? NO! It thinks live HD streaming baseball is general internet traffic. Application aware ? NO! My network has had to be rebooted 3 times in the last 48 hours. reliable? NO!
Overall Review: I went WAY out on a limb to drop $200 on a router so I would not have to micro manage 10 to 15 sometimes 20 devices that all need internet access but have different types network requirements. when I saw this item for pre order, I watched all the videos about Streamboost, Quallcomm and D-link. I read the reviews and I was impressed. This was my 4th D- link router and will probably be my last. My old DGL-4300 worked better than this. I will hope for the best in the next week or so, maybe this thing will "learn" something or get a firmware update. But if not, I am going to be done with D-Link for good. I do NOT have time to play around with this thing while they figure it out. I AM NOT A BETA TESTER. I am a customer who just spent $200 on what was supposed to be the best HD streaming / gaming router available.
