Pros: I've always used WD Black drives for their reliability and dependence and this one is no different. They are great drives.
Cons: I've owned MANY WD Black drives and this one is the only one to ever do this but it does cost it a star.
The SATA cable will not snap and lock into the hard drive. I've tried three different cables that snap in place fine on other equipment but on this hard drive they just won't snap and lock in. It's provides a semi-snug fit so as long as there's no jostling around of the drive, which there shouldn't be, then there shouldn't be a problem but it costs it a star nonetheless because I can see it being an issue one day.
Overall Review: Great drive but with poor SATA connector.
Pros: It matches my case.
Cons: If making legal backups of your movies or ripping anything is important to you then look elsewhere this drive is riplocked. The fastest you're going to rip a disc is 8MB/s.
Pros: It burns nicely.
Cons: If making legal backups of your movies is important to you then look elsewhere this drive is riplocked. The fastest you're going to rip a disc is 8MB/s.
Pros: 2 TB in a tiny package. Actual storage comes in at 1.81 TB.
This thing is tiny! Much smaller than I was expecting. It's smaller than my S5. Thicker but smaller in height and width.
Runs very cool. It's cool to the touch. So far it puts out an almost imperceptible amount of heat. You can barely feel it at all. I have it standing up not lying down if that makes a difference.
Clocked in at 121.5 MB/s READ and 124 MB/s WRITE using USB 3.0.
Cons: The included USB cable is insanely short.
Overall Review: This drive seems to be great at transferring very large INDIVIDUAL files but not so much at very large files consisting of numerous smaller files. I went to back up my ebook collection which consists of 10's of thousands of files and it estimated 20 hours to completion. The total size was about 26 GB. I rared the collection into a single 26 GB file and it transferred the entire thing in about a minute or so.
Pros: Great air flow.
Overall Review: If this is the size fan you need this is a great one to get.
Pros: Great router this one. It has performed flawlessly for years now. Never had any hiccups or drops or anything.
Cons: The only con I can think of is a way to monitor how much bandwidth comes through it. Sure you can install bandwidth monitors on your computer but what if you stream on wireless devices such as a Roku? I would like to be able to see how much bandwidth passes through it but can't.
Overall Review: Great router don't hesitate.
Pros: Awesome discs for an awesome price. These are the cheapest discs price-wise but not quality-wise. If you need some Blu-Ray discs do not hesitate to pick these up.
Cons: None. I've used this brand for years and have never had a single coaster.
Pros: Outstanding card that can handle just about anything you throw at it.
Great price with a rebate and a free game card included.
Nice software to tweak the card settings to your liking.
Cons: Windows 7 users DO NOT use the included disc to install anything. I have 7x64 and the disc installed Vista drivers that ended up freezing up my system. Besides there are updated drivers on the website so the disc is irrelevant anyway.
Overall Review: Windows 7 users do not need to use the included disc at all. All the drivers and software have updated versions on the website so the disc is not needed.
Pros: Great Burner.
Plug and Play no drivers needed.
Fast response time.
Overall Review: This is a great burner for a great price!
Pros: Good airflow. Quiet, can't hear it at all. True Blue LED's not the aqua or other off blue colors so you can be sure it will match the rest of your blue setup.
Overall Review: None
Pros: It's shiny and new.
Cons: This has only been installed for 7 days now. Within that time I have had 3 BSOD's and a handful of other errors like restarting when I choose Sleep and programs that it won't close when trying to shut down. When it does appear to shut down properly the next time I start it up it sometimes goes to the Safe Mode login screen where you can choose Safe Mode or normal startup. There's definitely something wrong and I have no idea what. For $300 you should be able to expect near perfection.
Overall Review: Just because it's newer don't assume it's better. I had Vista for years and didn't have as many problems with it as I've had with Win 7 Ultimate just within the first week of running it.
Pros: Good case for the GPS.
Cons: Unless you lock the GPS and insert it into the case with the power switch facing up you may inadvertently turn the GPS on when putting it up.
Pros: Good 5.1 speakers. Nice highs and bass response. Good price for a 5.1 setup.
Cons: The matrix button which is supposed to convert all non-5.1 audio into 5.1 audio doesn't work on some videos. Instead of converting to 5.1 it will block any sound from working on any speaker at all until it's turned off and returned to 2.1 audio. I wrote on the Logitech forums asking for help with this and was essentially told I was a liar. They said what I was describing was impossible. Great customer support Logitech!
Overall Review: Other than the occasional problem with the Matrix button not working right they're good speakers.
Pros: Great wireless card. It hasn't lost connection once. Works through three walls.
Pros: Had to get this when my Vista Ultimate x86 crashed on me. It seems to be a good upgrade. I haven't had anything not work on it yet. Nice additional features not present in prior MS OS's.
Cons: The price. $300 for a retail copy???? No wonder Bill Gate's salary amounts to $200 per second. This should be what OEM costs and OEM should be half what it is.
Overall Review: I wanted to get the full retail version because I want to be able to use it more than once. I will build another PC in a few years and want to be able to reinstall this. With the OEM version it's a one time use. Also the retail version includes tech support but I'll never use that.
Pros: Good drive with very few coasters. I've had this drive since 11-09 and it finally went out totally on 3-11. This is after ripping and burning a MINIMUM of 6 discs per week as well as watching hundreds of hours of movies on it. For the price you can't really expect more.
Cons: None really.
Overall Review: This drive went out a total of four times. The first three times I was able to unplug the power cable and plug it back in and this seemed to fix whatever the problem was for a few months until I had to do it over again. The fourth time it went out that didn't work and it had to be replaced.
Pros: I've been using these particular discs for many years now and they are great. I've gone through literally thousands of them. The coaster rate is about 1 every few hundred discs which isn't bad.
Cons: If you do run into a bad disc it will most likely be either one of the first two or the last two in the spindle.
Hard to find in stores for a reasonable price.
Overall Review: These are great discs don't hesitate in getting them if you need some DVD+R's.
Pros: Great discs. Great price. No coasters! Far cheaper than any "name" brand.
Overall Review: Don't be shy purchasing these because you're not familiar with the brand. I've gone through dozens of these and still not one has failed. Great purchase!
Pros: *Very comfortable mouse to use.
*Accepts only 1 AA battery instead of 2 if you want to cut down on weight.
*Free scroll mode will spin for a long time.
*Great battery life.
*Cool hidden thumb button.
*DPI and scroll mode switching.
Cons: *Lag issues. I can be doing something and the cursor will briefly freeze then catch up. Sometimes it will remain stuck for several seconds. It seems to happen when there is alot going on, when the computer is being used intensively. Although it might be wireless interfering because my router is 2 feet away. I'm still diagnosing it. Either way it's EXTREMELY annoying having the cursor freeze up randomly like this.
*Unlike some that have trouble with the scroll wheel tilt buttons being clicked when using the wheel, I find it very difficult at times to click something with the scroll wheel (it's set to act as double-click) without scrolling up or down on accident and end up clicking something else entirely. It doesn't matter if the wheel is set to free scroll or not. It can be very annoying trying to click something and every time you try the screen jumps up or down a little and you miss.
Overall Review: This is a very comfortable mouse with lots of programmable buttons and even a hidden one. It has a few issues that I'm trying to iron out. If I can get rid of the problems above it will be a 5-star mouse because everything else about it is great. If the above issues persist no matter how comfortable it is I don't see me using it for long. The freezing cursor is on my last nerve.
Pros: Had it a week now. So far it rips, reads, and writes just fine. Not overly loud but you can hear it on wind up.
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: I wish Newegg would offer FedEx. 3-day shipping with UPS is always at least 5 days.
Pros: Very good prices compared to the rest.
Burns faster than 4x on the Pioneer BDR-203.
Never had a bad disc.
Overall Review: Great discs and a great price. Go for it.
Pros: Lot's of room. Not too pricey.
Cons: You can hear it when it's pushed but it's no biggie to me.
Overall Review: Good drive no problems.
Pros: Outstanding clarity and colors. The brightness of the screen is beautiful. Full 1080p. Nice array of connections. Glossy black finish. No dead pixels. TV tuner. Even made me breakfast!
Cons: The power button on the monitor is, like others have said, a pain. Your finger has to be in the precise location or it won't work. The included remote makes this irrelevant however.
The included DVI cable is too short. It didn't give me room to run it behind the desk I had to route it over the front for now until I get a longer one.
Overall Review: I bought everything for my new computer except the RAM here on Newegg. However, buying a monitor through them with their 8 dead pixel policy is too risky. I know I'd be the one to have a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I found it at a local major retailer for the same price and didn't have to wait on shipping.
Pros: Great air output. Awesome lights. The random option doesn't just rotate between red, green, and blue. It actually fades into each of those colors using many more colors. Very nice.
Cons: Noise level at fastest fan speed is a little loud but that's ok. You can turn it down just a little from max and still have great airflow without the noise.
Overall Review: It's supposed to have arrows indicating air flow direction but doesn't so you'll have to make sure to place it the right way.
Pros: Plenty of connections. Easy to overclock everything with the BIOS. Tri-SLI capable. 8GB RAM. Everything you'll probably ever need.
Cons: Included drivers for the ethernet and onboard audio don't work with Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Since I had no Internet because of the lack of an Ethernet port I had to downgrade to Vista Ultimate 32-bit. Everything worked fine then.
