Its intel's fault

Pros: Good on board sound. I like the bios. No weird things going on like sudden shutdowns. OCZ Reaper DDR2 1066 works good. My Vista CPU score went up when I changed the ram speed from (stock 800) to 1066. Copper heat sinks look so cool.
Cons: Froze at POST screen. The problem is that intel changed the S-spec: of their processor. My new E8400 would not work unless I updated the bios. I contacted MSI and they said the only way to update the bios is to get an older CPU to get it to boot up. So that’s what I did. I bought a Celeron 430 from newegg (40 bucks) got it running, installed windows xp, then updated the bios. Then I returned the processor. It cost me 10 bucks to ship it back and another 10 bucks for the restocking fee. But at least my E8400 works now. I had to bend some pins to get my PNY GTX260 to fit but I say so what.
Overall Review: Remember to turn off spread spectrum in bios to over clock among other things. MSI has a list of what bios is needed for what processor S-spec. Of course you will not know what S-spec you have until you buy the processor. I got stable overclock to 3.38 with out turning up the voltage on the cpu. I turn it up a bit and got 3.5 ghz.(stock is 3.0ghz). I did not push it any further but if I played around with maybe more voltage and more ram voltage it may be could of went higher.
Rebate SCAM

Pros: No comment
Cons: I never got my rebate, so I cannot post anything positive.
Overall Review: Filling out the rebate was a huge pain scince in had to be on the computer AS WELL AS the mail in bull sh?t.
