Misinformation - Vintar

XFX Double D Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card FX-795A-TDFC
XFX Double D Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card FX-795A-TDFC

Pros: Runs everything at max settings with a 1920x1080 resolution. Not a single hardware or software problem since I purchased.

Cons: If you set fan speeds above 85% this can be a loud card, but @50% speed it keeps card plenty cool and quiet.

Overall Review: Vintar please do not spread mis-information about this card and its power requirements. AMD's own site only requires a 500 watt power supply for a 7950 and they are dead on the money. I own this exact card and have been running it in my system since late June of this year on a 4 year old 500 watt power supply. My processor is an Ivy Bridge i7 and I have both an SSD and a HDD in my system.

Expected more, yes I know its a cheap LCD

Acer G205HVbd Black 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 200 cd/m2 ACM 5,000:1 (700:1)
Acer G205HVbd Black 20" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 200 cd/m2 ACM 5,000:1 (700:1)

Pros: It works. No dead pixels. 1600x900 resolution is better than similar priced competitors offering 1366x768.

Cons: Light bleed is very bad. Contrast ratio sucks and it is impossible to get a black out of this thing (blacks really turn out a washed out grey) Viewing angles are terrible. Sitting 3 feet to the left of this monitor and the screen is so washed out it is not possible to discern what is on screen (my 8 year old ViewSonic this replaced was 1000 times better than this at the same angle).

Overall Review: I bought this because it was cheap (<$95) and it was going to be used on my server so screen quality was not a priority. This certainly suits it role but I am surprised to say that given my low expectations when I purchased this did not even meet those when I turned it on. If you want a cheap display and image quality, angle, color reproduction, contrast ratio are not priorities then this will get the job done. I do not recommend buying this for any primary display on a computer that will be used for any kind of photo/video viewing, movie watching, or game playing.

Moves air and looks good doing it

Pros: Fast Fast Fast Low power Did I say fast?????

Cons: Expensive Intel lower your prices!!!!!!

Overall Review: I am a avid AMD user and came from an Athlon II X4 620 processor. I had no idea the difference in speed I was missing!!!! Sure for simple web browsing and file processing I dont notice much but I do A LOT of video encoding and gaming. I rip DVD's on a consistent basis using handbrake and with the same profile I have gone from 1.5 hour encode (Using my AMD quad core) to less than 15 minute encode with this puppy, that is a huge difference!! I also get smoother frame-rates on my games (especially BF3 multiplayer).

Great design and quality

Antec P280 Black Aluminum / Steel Super Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec P280 Black Aluminum / Steel Super Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Craftsmanship and quality is very good. Roomy, tons of space behind motherboard, tons of drive room, can accommodate any size graphics card. Easy to assemble requiring few if not zero tools. Great ventilation keeping your components cool, yet case is surprisingly quiet. Cable management is superb offering tons of room and options to hide your cables. USB 2.0 and 3.0 on the front!!!!

Cons: I miss having a removable motherboard try (coming from Lian Li). Since it is so big make sure you have a power supply with long cables!!! I reused a slightly older modular power supply that had short cables. I made it work but had to be creative on cable routing and a few could not go behind the motherboard tray.

Overall Review: 110% satisfied with this case and would highly recommend to any builder that wants a quality, cool, and quite case.

Unbeatable for the price

Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 USB Connector Circumaural Stereo Headset
Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 USB Connector Circumaural Stereo Headset

Pros: Low price, padded leatherette ear pieces, boom mic, sound quality, quality controller

Cons: Make your ears hot after a while

Overall Review: I was blown away by the sound quality of this very inexpensive headset. Sounds are crisp and clear while offering a decent amount of bass. The mic is much improved over my previous headset offering excellent voice detection with a nice firm adjustable position system. My previous headset the mic would easily fall down out of position due to how loose it was. If you dont want to spend >$50 but want to achieve a close level of sound quality and comfort these headsets are a perfect fit. They may not be as nice as Turtle Beach but for this price they dont need to be!!!!
