Server 2012 Hyper-V Issues.

TP-Link 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express, PCIE Network Adapter / Network Card / Ethernet Card for PC, Win10 supported (TG-3468)
TP-Link 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express, PCIE Network Adapter / Network Card / Ethernet Card for PC, Win10 supported (TG-3468)

Pros: Price point Speed Works great under most normal configurations, as long as it's not bound to a Hyper-V virtual switch. (-1 egg)

Cons: Incompatible with Server 2012 Hyper-V Virtual Switches. (See Other)

Overall Review: Under normal configurations this NIC performs as a NIC should. However when you try to configure this device with Hyper-V to include a Virtual Switch it will cause the system to BSOD as soon as you apply the configuration. I have had this happen every time I have tested it on a Dell 2950 Gen III as well as a Dell R910. The default NIC's for these servers (Intel) work perfectly when setup for V switching. This guy nope, same results every time. ***Please Note: This NIC is not defective, everything else works fine with it, including binding it to VmWare ESXI and Oracle Virtualbox. -Strange

Most Critical Review

Seems to have issues not experienced in the older "fat" models.

Sony Playstation 3 320GB Sports Champion Move Bundle
Sony Playstation 3 320GB Sports Champion Move Bundle

Pros: I still fully feel like this is the better console on the market as far as gaming graphics and UPnP / DLNA support (If you watch streaming media). Its also a great price point for a home Blue Ray movie player. In all is is a great all around compliment for your home media / entertainment center and I love it in general.

Cons: I have recently been one of the fortunate individuals that has received the Yellow Light of Death on one of the original "Fat" Ps3's. (Re-flow didn't fix) In comparison of the original "Fat" Ps3's I feel this version is a bit weak. I am not just referring to the advertised short comings, ie, the lack of backwards compatibility for Ps2 games and the lack of a multi-card reader. I am instead referring to the following: Constant "DLNA Network Disconnected" error I receive while actually having my media cutoff. Controllers do not "Sleep" when not in use. They instead will remain on and consuming battery power as long as the PS3 is on. I am also having an intermittent audio issue where HDMI will not output audio to my TV when set as the primary audio device. This also occurs with multi-audio enabled. The fix seems to be to restart the PS3. This only occurs from a cold start, never disabling itself when already in use.

Overall Review: I am only rating this against the older style "Fat" ps3 systems and am a little shocked of its short comings. I also own several other consoles so I am trying not to be biased. By choice, I prefer the Ps3 as a more all around solution to home entertainment and feel like this model could have been done better.

Steam Game Storage for Tablet

Corsair 64GB Voyager GO USB 3.0 Flash Drive (CMFVG-64GB-NA)
Corsair 64GB Voyager GO USB 3.0 Flash Drive (CMFVG-64GB-NA)

Pros: • Size - 64 Gb • Fast read/write over USB 3.0 • Quality aluminum case • Can load and play games through Steam which is installed on this drive. (See other) • Low power requirements. Sorry I do not have numbers, but the tablet does live a little noticeably longer with this vs an external USB3 240Gb SSD (which still isn't too bad).

Cons: None yet. I have owned this drive for quite awhile and have never had any problems with it. Ditch the little cloth cord, it will eventually fray and cut through. A standard problem for most USB thumb drives. You can replace this with a small metal jewelry ring (similar to a keyring) from a store like Michaels.

Overall Review: I have a windows tablet with a pretty small hard drive and bought this with the idea of being able to install Steam and a few games for road trips. I like the idea of a thumb drive over an external drive due to portability. I can leave the thumb drive plugged in directly to the device and not dangling off of a cable.

Works great under ESXi 5.5

Lite-On EBAU108 External DVD-Writer - Black
Lite-On EBAU108 External DVD-Writer - Black

Pros: Bought this for installing VmWare ESXi on a few boxes that were lacking an optical drive. ESXi can be a little picky but I had no issues detecting this drive. This drive has since migrated to my laptop bag and works great with my Dell XPS 12 convertible tablet. There have been no power issues with the one USB connection. Small and slim compared to older models of external optical drives.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Very please with this purchase. We have two other brands sitting around here that are hit of miss with a few of our tests. USB cable was a little short so I swapped it out with one already laying around here.

Im a fan.

BitFenix Spectre LED Red 140mm Case Fan
BitFenix Spectre LED Red 140mm Case Fan

Pros: - Red. I have ordered a few "red" lit items that have come out more orange than red. - Very quiet. While these are not silent they are hardly noticeable from under my desk. If you had these on a case by your monitor as I have at a LAN party, they can be a little distracting. - Not overly bright. You may be looking for a brighter light, I would call this subtle.

Cons: Bought four and have had no problems with these what so ever.

Overall Review: I was actually looking for an equivalent of the old laser fans where you can see the reflected lights in a swirl. These are pretty close, but the blades are not as reflective.

Sleek Case / Thin Metal

Corsair Obsidian Series 450D Black Brushed Aluminum and Steel ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case
Corsair Obsidian Series 450D Black Brushed Aluminum and Steel ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case

Pros: Good all around mid-tower case with plenty of room and a sleek design. - Decent price point. - Plenty of room: Easily accommodates 2~3 of the largest video cards form factors of today. - Nice little hidden design for 2x 2.5 Hard Drives (Behind Modo tray) - Holds an additional 4x 3.5 Hard Drives - Cable management system is better than most I have. seen. Holes for the cables are actually in a useful spacing leaving length for the cables to be connected. - Large window with plenty of places to hide cathode lights out of view. - Dust filters on every intake opening.

Cons: For the brand and this being a mid range price for a case, I am a little put off by the over all build quality. Don't get me wrong, the design is spot on and Corsair has an eye on the details on this one, but the steel. It just feels flimsy.. The doors I have to push on both sides with my hands and knee to align properly. The overall case, that with doors removed, will wobble as it lacks support. Though I really like the filters and the top one being magnetic seems to be a really smart design, there seems to be an issue with how the magnets are attached to the screen. The magnets are the type that would come in a roll with a double stick tape backing. After the magnets are attached to the screen, the sticky part is still open to particles while it is mounted on the case. I'd imagine that after owning this case for some time, that there would become an unremovable layer of dust and debris stuck to it. After all, when I opened the box, there was already a little dead beetle looking bug stuck to it.

Overall Review: Over its a great little case and I am happy with my purchase.
