Most Favorable Review

great laptop for the buck

TOSHIBA Satellite 15.6" Intel Pentium P6200 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit PSK2CU-0HW01U
TOSHIBA Satellite 15.6" Intel Pentium P6200 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit PSK2CU-0HW01U

Pros: decent speed, memory and storage for the price, high quality build I am used to from Toshiba

Cons: one complaint, weak wireless connection when on batter power and only reaches a speed of 150 on wireless N but all in all good computer for the price

Overall Review: you get what you paid for is rarely true in a good way, with this you get more than you paid for, runs well, decent speed

update on two previous reviews

SunbeamTech Airbox EN-AIR-ES3-BK Aluminum (except the front / back panels and thermal relief holes) 3.5" Black SATA I/II USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure
SunbeamTech Airbox EN-AIR-ES3-BK Aluminum (except the front / back panels and thermal relief holes) 3.5" Black SATA I/II USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure

Pros: looks good, on previous reviews I complained about it shutting down. I recently built a new htpc and hooked this drive to it with an esata connection and it now has worked fine. All problems seem to be only when hooked up using USB. The dive I have in it is a WD Green 1TB 5400 RPM for my media network storage

Cons: still trust my thermaltake max 4 over this but this does have a better price

Overall Review: It now works being hooked up this way and keeps my drive cool. The computer it is hooked to is my house hold server for printer, and hard drive storage. It has the bluray and is hooked to the main TV in the living room. I will be hooking up more drives, not sure still that I will use this brand of case again...

THX is a joke

Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System
Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System

Pros: good compared to other "computer" speakers

Cons: for these to be certified by THX they must have lowered the standards just because these are computer speakers. 10% THD is lousy and is like a low priced discount store stereo. This certification is a total joke. Just a marketing ploy.

Overall Review: With computers the way they are today, if you are going to put this much money out on a speaker system just but an HTB by Onkyo, Yamaha, or few other companies with less than 1% THD and normally 80 watts per channel or more for the same price or less. Use a fiber optic cable or HDMI cable and keep it digital.

Companies that back their product

"KAZE Q" Fan Controller
"KAZE Q" Fan Controller

Pros: This is my third review of this product, first one was good, second one was bad and now back to good again. I contacted New Egg and Scythe, they both offered to pay shipping for a return. Turns out I don't need a return. I pulled the controller from my computer and checked the connections. The wire where it plugged into the controller unit for #2 fan was shorting out, I took a small screw driver and pressed the connector pins in the plug connected to the wire so it would mak a more secure connection with the pins on the other plug and all was fixed.

Cons: Not all companies are like Scythe and New Egg

Overall Review: This is the best fan controller for my taste and case. No fancy lights just a simple turn of the knob to turn it up or down. It has a clean simple look and as soon as my other fan gets here my computer case will be LED free besides the indicator ones. The showcase of my computer is its performance not some fancy light show.

just wrote a review and then oticed something wrong

"KAZE Q" Fan Controller
"KAZE Q" Fan Controller

Pros: looks good would be perfect except

Cons: Only three of the controls are working, don't know if it is a broken wire, short or a bad pot

Overall Review: WIll contact NewEgg see what they will do but I won't RMA this if I have to cover shipping. It will just be one of those lessons. Sad really like Scythe fans so this controllers is a let down...

best fans for the buck

Scythe SY1225SL12SH "Slipstream" Case Fan
Scythe SY1225SL12SH "Slipstream" Case Fan

Pros: great price, great air flow

Cons: Loud but, if use a fan controller and their loudness is not an issue, the higher speeds and flow is there when you need it.

Overall Review: I replaced all my fans but the front one with an LED and I order another one today to replace it. Scythe is now the only fan I will use in my builds. The build these were going in is a little less than a year old and I already had to replace the one other fan I bought from another company NZXT when I built this. Scythes all are still in the case NZXT went bye bye...
