Pros: Low price,COMFORT<!!> and thumpin, deep bass!!!!! $20 isn't bad, I've paid more for some logitech sets that cannot touch this s***t! The sound is great, currently going over old cds and its a lot like when I heard them for the first time. These blow away some old headphones that dominated the logitechs I've owned, so $20 is a small price to pay for this. The biggest thing when it comes to sound is the bass, i mean BASS. These have that THUMP I've been looking for and without the distortion of the logitech set I owned<and paid more for :/ >. I listen to the likes of Prodigy,Chemical Brothers,Underworld and so on and the quality of the bass makes a world of difference. Maybe you're into Rap instead, you will appreciate the bass just as much. Outside of the deep Bass the sound is also much higher quality then I got out of Logitech, a brand that seems more hype then anything else. GNRoses,RobZombie also sound a lot better then anything I've had before. Nice clear sound.
Cons: Cons? Maybe the fact that I have to make the "OM*!!! New EGG you WTFpwn11!11!!uno!1 with your 1 day shipping!". It did get here in 1 day's time. Shipping was free. Unfortunately I have to say that I don't care for the shipping costs since the Egg changed to UPS over Fedex. Fedex delivered just as fast but at half the cost. I actually held off ordering these due to shipping costs. So thats the con but it has nothing to do with the headset. The other con is that I've gone through 3 sets of logitechs at $30+ a pop for subpar sound. Oh if you have a thing against an awesome 9.5 foot cord then you will be disapointed. For those that don't hvae their comp next to their head, you'll love the extra length. I know I do!
Overall Review: The comfort, these things are similar to mini pillows hugging your ears. Actually I can barely notice them even when trying to judge how noticeable they are. The headset is fully adjustable. The headphones fit my ears nicely and I'm sure those with smaller ears will find them just as comfy. There is no noticeable pressure. The volume is something I have to bash on logitech again for. With my sound card settings turned up to 100% and the logis set turned up to 100% as well does not match these at 50% or less. I ended up using some old headphones for a while because they had a much higher output then the logitech set. As far as this headset, it beats the headphones that again dominated the logitech set. The logitech headset started to put out a lot of distortion at 50% of its max volume. Backed by its weak bass leaves me feeling that logitech cannot compete with this headset. The plantronics name is definitely holding its own with products like this! logitech can just G T F
Pros: They look nice. I have owned 2 sets of these. They switched the material for the padding, the old type caused this weird rash and made people sweat. I liked the volume control but that didnt last to long.
Cons: Cheap wiring, both headsets had the copper wire break apart. I have owned cheap-standard priced headphones that have lasted years so I know how to take care of my stuff. The volume control is weak and changes on its own. It wasnt till the 2nd set broke that i found out how loud my volume can really go. I hooked up standard headphones and at 10% its as loud as the logitech set at full volume and my soundcontrols at 100% as well. also the slider gets stuck and is a pain. I rarely used the mic but when I did no one could hear me or i had to talk really loud.
Overall Review: For the price...id say they are okay at least for a month, past that and your basically wondering when they will break. i personally expected more from logitech honestly. The sound is great but the flaws prevents it from being a great headset. The fact that they changed the padding is maybe a sign they actually look at how good the set is and are working on it. I hate the fact that i waited months to find a pair of these only to have 2 sets break on me. :/
a RE game I like??? What in the world...
Pros: First off I hated all other RE games. I don't own this one but i have played it with a friend through co-op on his ps3. Those that <3 RE games will love this one. Those that hated them will actually have fun with this game. I liked that the ammo in the game was not ultra limited. Co-Op is great, especially if one player is takes point with short range weapons like the shotgun and cattleprod while the other guy goes for range with a SMG/AR and a sniper rifle. The fact that you can team up makes the game far more fun the other REs i have tried. There isn't a lot of "puzzles" or as I see them,"time wasters" in the game. This was one of the biggest problems with RE,Tombraider and other games of the sort. I felt as though I was wasting time on filler material. Mercenarys mode after beating it. Honestly that is the reason I am considering buying this! Its very addicting. Reminds me of the days I spent playing Ghost in the shell on PS1 just to get a higher score.
Cons: Its darn close to the old resident evil controls. This means its kinda on the clunky side. Using a weapon requires you to stand still which really annoys an FPS gamer to death. Using a knife also requires you to stand still. Most of the enemies can attack you outside of your knife range. walking up to them leaves you open as you have no means of evading their attack. Sequences that require you and the other player to hit the right button at the right time in order to get through. We had trouble figuring out why we failed even though we knew we hit the right buttons. other times we just knew we hit the wrong one. Extremely frustrating when it comes to fighting the big ugly.... The story wasn't great. From a non-RE fan pov, it seems as though capcom just threw something together. I wasn't impressed.
Overall Review: I honestly did not want to play this game. I tried all of the others and barely could stand RE4 for a while. The controls, ammo and time was..i mean "puzzles" made me feel as though i was not playing a game but instead testing my patience. I felt the designers were lazy by adding in mindless but time consuming "puzzles" they extended the game. yet offering the gamer nothing in the way of "FUN". This game made efforts to fix those problems. The controls still bite as mentioned above but don't kill the game. Mercenaries mode is great. I like bonus modes that are challenging and different then the regular game. COD4 failed in this regard as it was merely a point based replay of the normal game.Merc delivers what I want in bonus content. Merc would be a great game if they added additional levels and characters. In fact I am considering buying it just so i can play merc mode when i want and hopefully online, if thats possible. Like Cod4, the gunnery level was worth a whole
Bloody good sound!
Pros: I ordered a pair of these for someone I know, well recommended they go with these based on their budget and what I knew about headsets, so technically they purchased it but i pointed them out. with that out of the way I have owned 3 pairs of "Logitech 980231-0403 Gold Plated Audio Connectors Circumaural Precision PC Gaming Headset" which run for twenty bucks. I've had problems with the wire breaking even though I take care of my stuff and have 14 year old headphones that work to attest to such. However what I would like to point out is the difference in the sound quality. The 14 year old headphones I have have beat anything I have owned before and since, especially the lolgitech headsets. The headphones were designed to deliver bass and all sorts of sounds. I listen to techno mostly so you know bass is important and if its distorted it ruins the music. The logitech headset had no bass. the old headphones do. The plantronics here is as good or better! I do not say such lig
Cons: Some apparently don't like roughly 9 feet of cable for their headsets. But for me who don't have their comp right next to their head, a long cord is a must have!
Overall Review: Great sound. Good, strong, clear bass. 9 foot cord. clip for your sound control so it doesnt go everywhere. Good price. The sound quality deffintely beats the logitech headset in the same category, so much so i stopped some lady about to let her son buy that set at a local comp store. I can't say how long they will last. But I can say that they are rather comfy to wear and I would say i have a slightly bigger head then some gamers. Of course they are adjustable and significantly so. the mic is on a boom that you can swing up for when your not using it. However you cannot bend it to be in front of you. Also I did not test out the mic so no comments there. I am looking for a new headset and I can say logitech is dead to me. Going for a plantronics for sure. quality content > advertising dollars. obviously great for games and music, just to make sure i cover all the bases for others like me out there trying to figure out whats good.
Pros: HEY NOOOBSSS:) Get this set. 1.all black, nice and shiny so it looks good with any comp. 2.its slim and low. 3.This set is silent as NINJA! The mouse click is virtually nonexistent, the keys on the board are silent! I was nervous about buying another keyboard/mouse online simply becuase i have a logitech mouse that is LOUD(!!!!!) and drives me insane while gaming(fps/strat,not this wow junk cuase thats not gaming!). Im also digging the curve of the board.
Cons: Cons, lets see. The keyboard cord is a bit short, maybe 3 feet long which could be a problem for some. The mouse's cord is about 5' so no problem there. The Space key seems loud but honestly its not. Its just that you dont have all the other "clickclckclclick" of your other keys to drown out the space bar. The curve of the keyboard. Its nice,i dig it without a doubt. Just expect a few days of really getting used to it,especially if you game in the dark becuase i missed a few keys such as "m" and "O". Im getting used to it and <3ing this board even more then yesterday. It might not have all the extra keys your used to on some other boards but it has a basic set up which is mostly for the tunes which is all i really need, know what i mean?
Overall Review: The extra keys worked off the bat,it is a microsoft keyboard and the webhome did work(i use firefox, all the others are for suckas). Did i say this board+mouse combo is silent as ninja already?? The keys are low,not to far raised up out of the board which is good for me. They are more of a "squish" then a "click" like someone said already. Not much pressure is needed to push the keys so you can keep your speed up or even boost it up if your using a tougher keyboard then this. The mouse is a bit slow moving,if your doing email, poking around the net or playing wow(lol) then youll be fine. If your going to do some real gaming then you might want to keep your gaming mouse plugged in.Even if this mouse isnt great for gaming it will help you preserve your good mouse while doing mundane stuff. Back and Foward keys are FapTastic I might add. Honestly this is a great board and mouse combo, low profile,as close to zero noise as possible and at a good price. (add neweggg fanb
Pros: Average size keyboard,I've used a smaller wireless for years before as well as a big bulky wired as well. The keys were not loud, had a nice clean keystroke if you know what i mean. The mouse feels small compared to the MX510 that I later bought but again average size. Overall it has a good feel, it (keyboard+mouse) did NOT have a "cheap" feel to it,which was something i was concerned about since I was buying online.
Cons: The Keyboard developed a problem with its cord. I am really good with my electronics and have had cheap headphones that lasted years, so i think I have a good idea on how not to abuse wires My computer would display a "no keyboard found" message until i moved the keyboard wire around and rebooted. Eventually the keyboard just died on me. Ive been using another, older keyboard that I would say has been abused compared to the aspire keyboard. I'm actually still using the mouse though it to has developed a few problems. the scrollbutton light is annoying at night as it is overly bright. the wheel developed a squeek after a few months and the right button either doesnt register a click or in fact "double"clicks when i just want 1 making it a crapshoot while playing a game.
Overall Review: Nice looking set.The death of the keyboard is questionable,I would assume the mouse would have died if they used the same wiring to make them both. While my MX510 is a better mouse all around, i still use this little sucker becuase it is as quite as a mouse, something logitech needs to look into. If you dont move your keyboard around much, unlike me, then I would say this is a good set,i bought mine for twenty something a year ago. If your bad with wires or move the board around a lot, you might have the same problem as me. I'd give it a 4.5 to start with,3eggs becuase the keyboard died a questionable death but the mouse took a year of gaming before developing a real problem.
