NETGEAR WGR614NAR G54 Wireless Router IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g

Raid does not work with XP

MSI P45 Platinum LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI P45 Platinum LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great looking board. Billions of options for overclocking memory/gpu/cpu/chipset. Works pretty well with Vista. Would have rated it a 5 if Raid controller was compatible with XP and if utilities such as the msi duo core software worked with Vista. Still a young board and chipset to MSi. With a few Bios updates and some new drivers, this could be a great board.

Cons: If you plan to use Raid 0, 5, etc, and are going to use windows XP, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOARD. The board will let you install XP on a single drive if you are not planning to do raid. The board comes with a CD that has a folder which the content must be copied to a floppy. (yes this means your system must have a floppy--or you can slip stream it) XP will ask you to select F6 to load more controllers. Finds the CH10 controller driver on floppy or slipstream. (yes I tried both) and at the point where it's ready to partition, it will tell you it cannot find any hard drives. Worked with tech support. First tech said that the board was bad. Need to RMA. Got replacement board from new egg in 48 hours! Hooked it up, same error. Called MSI, was told that I need to up the voltage on ram. Did exactly has told. Still same issue. Bought Vista and installed it without any issues at all. If MSI adds statement at the end saying...please contact us, ignore them.

Overall Review: Bios update does not work through Vista. Bios is larger than 1.44 mb so you must make a bootable thrumb drive and setup a ramdisk(can't update from a drive it must be through a ramdisk) as stated in the manual. With 4 hitachi 350GB hard drives hooked up in Raid 0. Getting about 300MB/s throughput on Raid 0 with a bursting at 1GB/s. Yes...really fast. Raid 5 is a dog. Getting about 100MB/s throughput and burst at about 200MB/s. Vista took over 1 hour to format the raid 5 200GB partition I created. Using 2GB OCZ OCZ2P800R22GK. Radeon 4870. System ranges from 250W-375W when running video tests.

Very fast drive for little $. (1GB version)

Western Digital WD Black SN750 SE NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS100T1B0E
Western Digital WD Black SN750 SE NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS100T1B0E

Pros: Getting 3431.9MB/s read and 2851.9MB/s write. See screencapture picture with crystaldiskmark in my review. Without any heatsink on the above test, in a 21.1C/70F room getting 41C Low and 51C peak under write activity. <Below is info about cheap heatsink I used and difference it makes> With the JEYI M.2 Heatsink, Heavy Duty Aluminum Convective Heat Sink FinsCold iGlacier8 unavailable at newegg but available at the other biggest online retailer... in a 21.1C/70F room getting 28C Low and 35C peak under write activity. That's a delta of 13C lower temperature on idle, and 16C lower on peak temperature.

Cons: Not a con for this drive but all nvme's. They all say that the MTBF (mean time between failure) is measured at 40C. So whenever your drive goes above 40C, you are increasing your chance of failure. I bought the heat-sink for around $16.50 so it's well worth the price.

Overall Review: I definitely recommend always getting a western digital drive. I started building PC's in 1987. Yes I'm old. I still have 15 year old WD drives that work. All my seagate drives have died. one in as few as 3 years. I currently also own the non-SE version of this drive also.

WD Blue 4TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD40EZAZ

Pros: Came sealed in an antistatic bag. Drive seems to be working fine. Did a full format which took 4 hours. No error, drive stayed cool.

Cons: The shipping from Newegg shock absorbent wrap only covered top, bottom and right side of drive. Left side was bare with no protection.

Overall Review: Time will tell, in longevity but wd is better imho than Seagate. Been building pc's for 25 years.

P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Load Meter and Monitor
P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Load Meter and Monitor

Pros: Works great at adding up how many kwatts you are using. Used it with an extension cord so that I could measure appliances that had their outlets covered.

Cons: Would have been nice to have a feature that allowed you to plug in the cost of electricity so that you could know the $ amount of electricity used. No built in memory. Once unplugged, unit turns off.

Works great no problems
