Long Term Review

SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This wont be a super technical review, but I wanted to chime in several years on and point out that ive been running this PSU since 2011(if memory serves) with zero issues and zero part failures. I live in Arizona and even during the summer ambient temps inside can get into the low 80s and it isnt phased at all(pun intended). This PSU has done everything I have asked of it and survived 3+ full system rebuilds.

Cons: When I bought it I spent $120?

Overall Review: Again, not going to get nitty gritty, but this unit has been 100% solid through 3 full builds over 5(ish) years on different motherboards, processors and load levels in a very hot and dusty part of the country.

Eh...

NYKO PS3 Slim Intercooler
NYKO PS3 Slim Intercooler

Pros: I think It did its job, my PS3 definitely felt cooler when it was running.

Cons: Fans all failed one by one, it started screeching when the PS3 turned on, then stopped working altogether. This happened within the first 30 days.

Overall Review: Not worth the time/money to RMA. I cant give it 2 eggs because it did work but its not deserving of 3 because it didnt last long.

Wildly Underrated

Rosewill ROCF-11004 - 120mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Hydro-Dynamic Bearing, Silent, 2-Speed with PWM Control
Rosewill ROCF-11004 - 120mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Hydro-Dynamic Bearing, Silent, 2-Speed with PWM Control

Pros: Bought them to replace the stock fans on an antec Khuler 920, and I was expecting nothing more than a difference in noise. What I got was a few degree drop in temps, and a near silent AIO, even when set to max speed. I can only just hear them through my case(which is on my desk) when the speed is turned all the way up. Their posted specs appear to be accurate in an everyday environment too. Its a real HDB, not a sleeve bearing being called something else like what you see from other manufacturers. Which is unusual. Not to mention, they are cheap.

Cons: The PWM on these can be hit and miss, so they aren't super controllable from a fan controller, but for what im paying, im not sure I can really complain.

Overall Review: Probably going to start using these as my standard case fan in my builds. The price/performance is fantastic.

Strip away the ROG nonsense and its great

ASUS Maximus V Gene LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Maximus V Gene LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Good build quality, good features, Asus warranty is fairly reliable in my experience.

Cons: Aside from how everything ROG carries a price premium and oozes l33t G4m3r? none

Overall Review: I bought this board because my only other option for an MATX 1155 Z77 board was a G1 Sniper M3, and the only reason to pick that board over this one is the better onboard sound. In every other way the M3 is inferior. So, im stuck with a board from a company I dont really like, and I paid a premium for features Ill never use. But I didn't have a choice, so I have to be fair to the product. Overall its solid, but I would like to see better components, fewer useless features, a lower price, and less marketing.

Underpriced + Best with a Fan Controller

Rosewill RFX-120 - 120mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Black Frame with Red Fan Blades, 2-Ball Bearing, Silent, 2-Speed with PWM Control
Rosewill RFX-120 - 120mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Black Frame with Red Fan Blades, 2-Ball Bearing, Silent, 2-Speed with PWM Control

Pros: Fantastic build quality, great airflow, and even at 100% speed they remain fairly quiet. Good wiring quality, sleeved, about 11-12 inch 3 pin cable.

Cons: Because they are a 2BB design they arent the most silent fans. They dont scream like a Delta or a San Ace either. More of a Buzzing Whoosh at full blast.

Overall Review: These fans are a nice ADDA 2 Ball Bearing, so they should last for several years barring a defect or other unforeseen issues. These are best paired with a fan controller to control their sound profile. At about 75% speed they become audible for me.

Good Earbuds

JLab J6MS JBuds In-Ear Single Earphone Style Headset with Enterprise Class Mic
JLab J6MS JBuds In-Ear Single Earphone Style Headset with Enterprise Class Mic

Pros: Small, Sound surprisingly good for the price and size, and backed by a real warranty. Surprisingly durable as well. Ive had a set of J6 earbuds since Christmas and after traveling, time in my backpack, being dropped and being wrapped around my ipod they are still playing just as well as the day I bought them.

Cons: Not audiophile quality, but as far as IEMs go, they are very good.

Overall Review: I worked for JLab for several months, and the team is truly dedicated to high quality audio, high quality products, and doing right by their customers.
