Beast of a processor

Pros: Absolutely flawless in the time I've used (abused) it.
Cons: None -- never a disappointment in it's intended function
Overall Review: I am on the verge of a total update to my entire system. I was curious to how old my current setup is so I came here to NewEgg and did a purchase history. There it is... Feb 13, 2009 -- 1 x Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 1366 1 x ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard 1 x XCLIO Windtunnel Fully Black Finish 1.0 mm SECC Chassis ATX Full Tower Computer Case 1 x CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory 1 x CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply plus a few thermaltake blue led case fans and some Artic silver thermal paste. 8+ years of the same mb/chip setup is mind boggling but here we are. I'm still using all of the listed items above including the original thermal paste application. (it didn't occur to me that the paste may need replacing over the years) but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've ran through more than several hdds, mice, keyboards, and optical drives but the core remains. The sheer amount of memories that this rig has logged in pictures, videos, games etc. is epic. I can only hope that intel hasn't lost the recipe in the new Kaby Lake i7's. It's been a great ride and this processor will probably find it's way into my stash of "things that have never failed me so it makes the archive" drawer. I'm almost positive it will be reborn with another function in the near future as a computer for a cnc router. It will be one of the stable parts of that setup as I can imaging this thing running in perpetuity.
Neewer 4 Piece Filter Kit for Yuneec CGO3 Camera

Pros: The ND8 filter really helped with getting my white balance under control while keeping frame rates down nicely. The fit and finish was very nice... no problem getting them on the cgo3. I actually had more difficulty in putting the original lens back on after my flight was finished.
Cons: My main reason for purchasing this set was for the circular polarizing lens filter. I've heard and seen how they can bring out the depth of color and take away the harsh light from the sun reflecting off of objects like water and such. I installed the filter and noticed that after I fired up my Typhoon H, the camera/gimbal was sagging. I shut off the H, removed the CPL, and did a gimbal calibration. Then I shut off the H and reinstalled the lens but upon restarting, the same thing happened. My guess is that the weight of the lens is too much for the gimbal so I just went with the ND8 lens instead and have since. I'm guessing that since I've seen video on how well the Neewer CPL lens works, the gimbal sag is a problem with my Typhoon that I'll have to figure out. Maybe I'll find some small weight to counter balance the camera with... or maybe not. I really wish there had been a ND16 lens included in this set but I went cheapo and bought the small set of filters. Seeing what the ND8 did, I imagine the ND16 would further enhance my cinematography. I'm not taking an egg from this lens set for being a tight-wad! lol
Overall Review: I haven't tried the ND4 filter or the UV filter as of typing this. The times I've flown since purchase have been full sun/partly cloudy. I'm looking forward to trying the UV filter if just to see what it does for pics and video.
Twice a Charm?

Pros: Plenty of cables and length to reach everything in my full tower. Nice looking psu. Modular = use only what you need and no clutter inside the case with extra cables to be tied up. Runs quiet and cool.
Cons: This is my second CMPSU-1000HX. The first one died while the computer sat idling and no one was using it. I've never seen that happen before...and I've been through some power supplies with all the custom builds I've done. Not a problem for me but it's a large psu.
Overall Review: I gave it 4 eggs because I know inside that the first one was a fluke...or at least I'm hoping so. Corsair support was quick and professional. I rma'd it and they sent a new one without any hassles. I hope that no one has the frustration of one dying like that but it's nice to know that they back-up their product.
Smaller than my house....a little!

Pros: I've used mid towers up 'til now and this case is very roomy in comparison. I let my boys crawl inside and sleep in it before I loaded it up ;). The two 25 cm. fans are nice and quiet and do a fine job of cooling my investment. The l.e.d. temp. readout on the front is a nice touch as is the lower side I.O. panel access for firewire, usb, and a/v. Setup was a breeze with only minor exceptions (noted below). The optical drives and hard drives are installed w/out any tools which sped up the process nicely. The fans have a soft blue glow that illuminates the case interior yet is not too bright outside the case. The ability to speed up or slow the fans rpm is a plus. Overall fit and finish is more than acceptable and the case has and intelligent sleek power user look to it. The front door has no locks or latches and is held in the closed position magnetically. The blue lit Xclio logo on the door balances the front asthetically.
Cons: Hmmm...where to start. The fans each have an on off switch!? I have yet to figure out why you'd need to turn them off. The two fan indicator lights are entirely too bright. I'll have to figure a way to tone them down without losing them completely as I like the idea of the indicator lights. There could have been felt or rubber stops on the door because the magnetic latch pulls the door and "clacks" it shut. I don't us the rail system for my pci cards as my video cards are too big to be held securely w/out screws. I couldn't get the rail to clip with them. The hard drives are a bit tricky to place in the plastic slide clips. I wouldn't advise trying to mount the drives with the plastic being cold as they would surely snap. Grommet holes in the rear would have been nice to run my water cooling tube. I had to mod my case and use grommets from my Antec 900 case.
Overall Review: I gave the case 5 eggs because there was nothing wrong with the case. It's an elegant thing of beauty that bridges form and function. Just the little things like the hard drives mounting sideways allowing the fans to cool them along with the rest of the interior. You can feel good airflow from each of the numerous vents around the case. I did a lot of research before purchasing the Windtunnel. I am getting the best bang for my buck imho. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a full tower at a super low price. ___________________ My specs: Asus P6P Deluxe Mobo Core I7 920 @ 3600mhz 2x Asus GTX 295 in SLI 6 gigs Corsair Dominators DDR3 @ 1680mhz BFG 800 Watt Quad PCI psu Zalman Resorator/Danger Den hybrid Watercooling
Worth every penny

Pros: Fast rock solid modules but exactly what I come to expect from Corsair. This memory is THE answer to the Core I7 processor. The combination is unstoppable. It also looks sweet on my ASUS P6T board.
Cons: You have to set up the modules in the bios to run at 1600. No problem if you are accustomed to setting up your bios. The packaging left a little to be desired but they were well protected at any rate. Not worth taking away an egg. Other than that, nothing but goodness.
Overall Review: I'd have loved to have the Corsair cooling fans included with this set but the memory's heat spreaders remain cool to the touch--only slightly warm after system benchmarks. I consider myself a Newegg addict. They brought me in with the lowest prices on the net and their customer service, large selection, and fast shipping is what will keep me coming back.
