Pros: Great burner. was able to burn everything at 16x with good playback quality. even was able to do 360 backups with ease with Memorex DL discs.

Cons: um... it was replacing a dying Pioneer DVR-109?

Overall Review: yes the previous Pioneer died on me but it took a bunch of abuses from me. that's why i am staying with Pioneer.

Pros: Works perfect on a SATA TSST DVD+-RW DL drive that came with my Dell XPS 700 desktop. burns data disc and DL video perfectly. Works with all software.

Cons: Does not finish lead out when burning to PATA Pioneer DVR109. Cannot burn anything at all with that burner due to this lead out error. (tried multiple software like nero, cloneCD, roxio, alcohol etc)

Overall Review: I think when people review things such as recordable media they should include what burner they are using.

Cons: I didn't even open my retail kit drive, and I used the serial number on hitachigst.com to check the warranty and to my surprise it is only 1 year (10/2010 expiration). Checked another 2TB oem drive that I bought earlier, and that has a proper 10/2012 expiration date. Contacted Hitachi and still no response. To all who has purhcased the drive: check your drive immediately and contact hitachi if your date is wrong.
