Great case for the price
Pros: -Tempered Glass -Included magnetic "RGB" LED Strip -PSU Cover -Overall good construction
Cons: -Could definitle use a bit more space in the back for cable management. -The back side panel on my particular case was a chore to get off. (Metal clips that hold it in to the tracks were bent on the bottom of the panel -Better Airflow design would be nice but it is functional *Special note here-I'm not sure if this was an isolated item but I noticed a significant change in temperature near the Graphics card. The temps were really high at idle (60C) which was abnormal. The same card would hover around 30-45c in the Corsair 750D(Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980ti).
Overall Review: Really happy to see Phanteks getting an honest shot in this industry. My first product from them was the Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler. The fans were the best fans I've ever used and that HS was awesome. I've since repurposed the fans as case intake fans in another build. Whether you're an experienced builder or a first timer I highly recommend this case. My next build I am aiming for the Enthoo EVOLV ATX.
Not what I expected from Corsair
Pros: 1. Warranty Length has always been my biggest selling point and Corsair has always met and exceeding that. 2. Finally some decent looking RAM that is available in just about every color combo board makers are putting out there. 3. RAM size it's nice to see 16GB+ sets being made available now that 64-bit OS's are able to take advantage of it all
Cons: Reliability is so far horrible- First set arrived w/ one stick of the four defective. Contacted Corsair for an RMA and set was replaced w/out issue. The replacement set I received one week later (kudos to Corsair for getting it out quickly but...)also contained one stick bad out of the 4. I've tested in each set, each stick by themselves in each slot and it's always lead to the same result of failed memory. I've also never been able to get this particular kit to run at the advertised 1600 speed set by SPD.
Overall Review: For now, my advice is to stay away from the Vengeance kits until Corsair can work the bugs out or stick to the two stick kits (8GBx2 kits). Corsair, I understand not being able to test every stick before it ships for retail however your RMA's should ALWAYS be tested thoroughly and approved prior to being shipped out. I unfortunately will be trying another manufacturer for my now third set. I hope Corsair works out the problems w/ the memory as I have always used and recommended their products. I still do on some things just not their memory for now.
Not a "fan" of these
Pros: -They are quiet -Inexpensive -They do have a good design to dampen noise w/ all of the rubber corners and the screwless design.
Cons: -They do not move a lot of air at all
Overall Review: -Would recommend either Phanteks or Notuca To be fair i should have gone w/ a higher RPM than the 1k's on this brand/model.
Great Product but needs a higher production run
Pros: Works as advertised and then some. I have this installed on my ASUS reference design GTX980. This cooler literally cut my temps in half under full load and opened up a greater ability to overclock my card. The highest I've seen my temps get under full load is 42C. The only thing I did was opted not to use the pre-applied thermal compound and used Phanteks NHDC compound instead.
Cons: Need more of these units produced. It was extremely difficult to find one instock and available for purchase.
Overall Review: If you can find one, get it!
A very worthy purchase
Pros: I installed this on my reference design ASUS 980 GTX. In my case I noticed temps cut literally in half. Under load I was hitting 81C. Now I can't get it to get hotter than 42C. I'm now able to able to see unthrottled performance from this card. It's a great, cost effective solution, short of going to a custom loop. Where you could easily spend upwards of 3.5x the cost of this unit. Is it all positive? No
Cons: Ease of purchasing: Let's face it, availability is horrendous. I was very lucky to get mine and considering this will work on every reference design 980, 980ti, and the Titan, there should be more produced. Getting a card from EVGA that his this preinstalled is even more difficult. Installation or more specifically, the manual: If you're tech minded and have fairly decent problem solving skills you'll figure out the missing bits. There' plenty out there in regards to the literature included so I won't harp on it. The fan cable and its length. It's better to have more than enough than not much at all. The pump power connector: I really would have liked to have seen this be a 4-pin that you could run to a motherboard fan header than it drawing power off of the same source as the memory/powerstage fan on the card itself. Just a personal preference
Overall Review: Regardless of the cons, they are actually more or less nitpicks w/ the exception of the availability, I am extremely happy w/ my purchase. If you are considering one of these I do recommend that you get one while you can. Prior to install I would also recommend that you watch videos on YouTube and read the manual, as bad as it is, so you can get an idea of what you're in for. THANK YOU EVGA for making a great product that does more than I expected!
