Nice speed increase for low cost

ZyXEL PLA407 HomePlug AV 200 Mbps Powerline Wall-Plug Adapter (Starter Kit - 2 Units)
ZyXEL PLA407 HomePlug AV 200 Mbps Powerline Wall-Plug Adapter (Starter Kit - 2 Units)

Pros: Increased speed over wireless connection at a relatively low one time cost. Download speed increased 28%, upload speed increased 42% (using speakeasy.net speed test). Has outlet so you don't lose an outlet when plugged in.

Cons: Size of the unit(s) is quite large. Hopefully in the future they can make them a bit smaller.

Overall Review: If you are having trouble with the units communicating, do not run one ON TOP OF a surge protector. Insert the Zynex into the outlet and run the surge protector through it instead. Pros: - Easy to install, just pop it in the card slot and install the driver off the included disc - Full throughput of my 2GB fiber connection - Runs super quiet ;)

Cons: - it's nice that they included a 1.5m cat6 cable but I needed at least 2m

Overall Review: - Dell XPS 8940 - Windows 11 home

Works great

Asus USB-N53 300Mbps Black Diamond Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter
Asus USB-N53 300Mbps Black Diamond Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter

Pros: Excellent strength, dual-band, long lasting

Cons: none

Overall Review: I'm picking up my second one for another machine. I've had my first one for over a year and it has never failed once. Always connecting at 5 GHz and using it with an ASUS RT-N56U router. If you are losing connection due to torrenting, large downloads, etc. it is likely your modem and/or cable provider + client settings rather than your network adapter or router.

Great inexepensive option!

Asus VH238H Black 23" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1
Asus VH238H Black 23" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1

Pros: Looks great. Built in speakers with volume switches. 2 ms response - great for gaming. And finally, great price.

Cons: Wish it had USB ports. Speakers don't sound great as others have said, but they work fine considering they are inside a monitor. The speaker on my cell phone doesn't sound great either.

So easy

Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Desktop Model KTA-G5400/2G
Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple Desktop Model KTA-G5400/2G

Pros: I ordered this set of 2 x 1GB modules to max out an iMac G5 that I just bought second hand. Installation took about 10 minutes with a phillips head screwdriver. Started it up and the new memory was immediately recognized as if it was always there and I started surfing, listening to tunes, Photoshopping, etc. Love it.

Cons: Unfortunately, buying old technology RAM costs more than newer technology RAM. Although with computer parts, especially for Apple products, I want to buy parts that are designed specifically for this system.

Overall Review: my machine: iMac G5, PowerPC, 1.8 GHz, 17-inch display, OSX 10.5.6 Leopard

Nice and easy

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard

Pros: I'm not into overclocking and pushing the limits of hardware, I just want to to plug it in and have it work. Call me Ron Popeil, "Set it and forget it." I got this board because it was well rated and acclaimed, had the features I need, and the price is right. Newegg and it's community of reviewers didn't let me down! Installed it and it fired up on the first try (why wouldn't it, right?).

Cons: None yet

Overall Review: This is the third PC I've built. I primarily build for general office use, some graphic design work, and light gaming. Other components on this build: Intel E8400 Core2Duo with stock fan, 4GB G.skill RAM, WD 500 GB SATA hard drive, Nvidea GeForce 8600GT, Antec Earth Watts 380watt PS, NEC DVDRW.
